It took me a while to write this review for a few reasons- one being that I needed to ensure I got my money back because trustworthiness is not something I would equate to this company. They employ people like Jill- who are rude, condescending, manipulative liars. I had been a customer for years but I am glad we are done with them. She would say one thing while in person with me then act like she didn't say anything at all causing confusion and frustration. Then when I asked to speak with someone other than her (who gave me conflicting stories like she was new and she wasn't, and paperwork was lost then thrown out) she gave me her email she didn't let me speak with anyone else! She straight up lied saying that she was giving me the email for her manager. I knew something was off because the email "from the manager"- had no name and contact information and was very emotionally charged attacking me and my husband. When I inquired who I was communicating with- the communications stopped. I was I was finally helped by a woman named Norma- who was covering a different day and I am glad she was that day because she finally let me put this issue to rest. I would just be wary and also don't expect good customer service. Cheaper isn't always better. ... Read more

Ok so I am giving Middlesex self storage a 1 star review because I can’t give them 0 stars, due to the incompetence and rudeness of the office workers and the the absence of a management who does not respond to emails , complaints, and any other problem associated with this property. I am willing to accept certain issues that are beyond the control of employees who have no power or say so in the day to day services but to be talked to in a way that is unbecoming of a respectable adult is ridiculous. I would advise anyone who is reading this to look for a more reputable storage facility in the local area who are offering units at lower prices as well. Also the statements that the units are temp control is false. I have about 300 books from my collection that is ruined and now have to be replaced due to this and the storage unit refuses to reimburse me for them( the books value is over $8,000 dollars) at current value and some of them are never going to be reprinted. Thanks people of Middlesex self Storage. You guys are the worst ... Read more

I have been a customer for almost two years and never had any issues. The storage facility is clean and safe, temperature of the climate controlled units was always adequate. The front desk lady is very helpful and straightforward. The rent wasn’t raised for the amount of time I had the unit and I got my deposit back right away after I moved out. I will definitely return if I ever need to. ... Read more

I needed to rent a unit and went in there on the first. I was told had to wait cause they we're doing autopay and they would get back to me. First how ridiculous that they can not take new customer because of that. And 2 day's later they called. Did not go with them. Plus I found a cheaper place. They wanted way to much. May have been clean and new but when they could not take new customer because of autopay and not getting back to me till 2 day's later I found to be ridiculous. So worked out better for me cheaper and took me right away and no issue's. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
