Place is terrible they will increase ur monthly payment regularly. I’m basically paying for a studio apartment its quite funny actually. But the kicker is no one actually works in the office. They had to change my lock to change the fire system and I swear I haven’t seen someone working the counter in two weeks. Please call me before I cut through the entire gate with a plasma cutter. ... The elevator has been down over a week. No communication from Public Storage on this issue. I hired a driver to move. Had to pay him only to find out. I have no accessibility to the unit. Spook with customer service, district manager and Bay Shore location. None of them could give me even a tentative date to when the elevator would be up and running, I don’t know how people are supposed to move without knowing when they could get into their unit to get their stuff. One week later…no communication or update I had to call to hear the elevator wouldn’t be repaired until sometime in February I lost money to pay the mover. Contractually this is a breach and now I have to incur the expense of a lawyer Unfair and rude. DO NOTuse this place. Lots more locally that are cheaper and more reliable Today is February 4. It is over 3 weeks and the elevator is down again. This is a situation which has been costly and frustrating. The manager promised to let me know if the elevator went down again and he did not Please don’t use this facility or use the first floor only. I am a prisoner of this incompetent management. I dislike giving a bad review but Public Storage doesn’t seem to care. ... Read more

Let me just start by saying that I've had a storage unit at several locations with Public Storage and have never received the AMAZING service that I received with Property Manager Linda. She called me back right away and took her time to hear out my concerns and then went above and beyond to help me. Your company should hire more people like her. Linda thank you soo much for the amazing service you provided me with today. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
