Now, was Stop&Stor the cheapest deal in the neighborhood? No. However, they have the best customer service. They had the easiest move-in. And they had the nicest, friendliest, most approachable management one could have asked for. I definitely will refer other Brooklynites to this storage location. I love the heated building, the easy access and,not for nothing, the friendly attitude amongst the staff. ... Read more

I went straight to Stop and Store Bayridge from the airport upon arriving to NYC as I need a storage unit for my stuff during my transition in the city. I felt welcome upon signing up 'coz Rui is friendly, polite, and professional. I asked him if they can receive my packages and he said yes as long as I pick up during the day they called me. I witnessed him receive packages while I was there. Facility is clean enough. Everything is good until I met Lisa, the facility manager, on the other hand, is the worst person ever that I have ever encountered as a customer! She was so rude, unprofessional, and very inconsistent. I went there one morning and she reported that she refused to receive my package saying with a disrespectful tone that they're not supposed to receive it and how can she do it to all to the customers if they have a lot. Then, she said I have to let her know, so I did tell her right there and then that I am expecting packages for that day and next day. While we're talking, there was another delivery guy that came to drop off packages but she refused to accept them too saying, "No one is here to accept the packages.". Again, in a disrespectful tone. She said that after making an announcement in the building that there's a package and no one went to the lobby to accept their package, so if you are not in their facility for the whole day or if you're there but was not able to go to the lobby in less than 5 minutes, then you will not get your package. She also said you're supposed to be there, then you're supposed to own a business and if you're not you can't have that service, then she said she talked to her district manager to be sure then after that she said that they can't accept packages at all. She also said it's in the contract that they don't accept packages, but it's not! So in short, she changes her statement every minute! Then, I left the facility, not expecting that she would call for my package that should be delivered that day, but then she called saying that my package is there. So when I went there I said, "You said you will not give me the package.", and she shouted saying, "They dropped it right there! You want me to leave it on the street?! I'm doing you a favor!". So I asked if I will receive my package tomorrow, and she said, "I don't know. Maybe not!". She asked a guy that works there to get my package. I went back home 'coz it was late and then realized they gave me a package that's not mine. I returned the package the next day and asked Rui what's the real rule but he's now confused too. I left the facility and vacated my unit the day after I encountered Lisa. I had been to other storage facilities that have more units and they are transparent and polite enough to receive our packages. It's also in the website of Stop and Stor that deliveries are accepted, but I was told otherwise. I don't know why I was mistreated this way as a customer who pays. And their price is higher than the others, I can't beIieve I just wasted my money, and since I cancelled after I paid already for the month, then I was not refunded. I also ended up sneezing a lot after that when it got cold in NYC 'coz I don't have the puffer jacket that I just bought because she refused to accept it! Sigh! The damage, inconvenience, stress are too much to handle for a paying nice customer. I really don't deserve this! I immediately signed up in another facility. I felt relieved, happy, and satisfied as soon as I enter the new green facility. They also have better prices and the staff there is super nice, unlike in Stop and Stor. Stay away from this facility if you don't want to be mistreated and yelled at! Run away from this facility. Save your soul! Protect your peace. Protect yourself. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
