We chose Prime Storage because it was more conveniently located near our home and initially offered a savings of about $40.00 per month. However, after only a few months, the rent was increased by $50.00. When I wanted to review the lease, I found it was no longer available for me to access, which felt like a bait and switch.
As a result, I moved to another facility that offers indoor, climate-controlled storage, saves me $76.00 per month, and includes a one-year price lock guarantee. ... Read more

If I could give no stars, I would. This is mainly because of the customer service. I didn’t even get in the facility. It was on a busy street and no buffer to the gate. The numbers were sticking so the code I was given wasn’t working. No one told me I needed yet another app to open the gate and 3 customer service personell weren’t equipped to help either. Absolutely terrible experience here. Would give 0 stars if I could. My friend and I came in to move her belongings into her storage unit on the second floor, only to find out the elevator wasn’t working. We had two car loads of heavy items and she had to be out of her apartment that day, so we had no other option but to make it work.
We immediately called and were told someone would be there in 10 minutes to service the elevator and that we’d get a call back with an update. Neither of those things happened… no call, and nobody ever came. We called back 20 minutes later and spoke to a completely different person who told us we could temporarily use an empty unit, purchase a lock, and move everything there until the elevator was fixed. That sounded like a solution, but when we went to the office, there wasn’t even a staff member there just a giant iPad that connected us to “Christian,” who left us on hold for over 30 minutes before telling us he couldn’t let us use another unit after all.
This whole process was frustrating, unprofessional, and a complete waste of time. The lack of communication, accountability, and basic customer service here is unacceptable. For the amount people pay for storage, you’d expect working equipment and staff who follow through on what they say. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. ... Read more

August 2023 started out at $61 per month for a small outdoor unit.
February 2024 without notice our payment went up to $78 per month due to a “stored content” fee (despite the fact that we held renter’s insurance that covered the unit)
April 2024 - rental fee went up again with notice to $83 per month.
Over 18 months, the price went up by over 36% with no added benefits, upgrades or improvements.
When we moved out, we found plenty of mouse droppings in our belongings.
The move out process was seamless and we did not incur any surprise fees.
Entering the property was easy when the app for the gate worked properly. If the gate app was not working, it was impossible to access our unit.
Construction on the property made entry difficult to navigate.
Would not recommend this location but at least nothing was stolen or seriously damaged. ... Read more

When I chose this facility for storage I based this decision mainly on price. I had checked out another local facility that had similar random price hikes and passed on it. When I called and spoke with someone at Prime I was told that they did have price changes but the next one wouldn't be until around march and nothing major in price increase. That was acceptable to me since I would only need it until April so I passed on another place I had reserved that would have been a fixed rate lower than the now 35% increased price starting January that was conveniently made right after first snow fall when it is too late to move a summer vehicle and motorcycle out of there. This is horrible business practice and due to weather and my work schedule I am now trapped into this ridiculous random rates rental until after winter. Needless to say I will be leaving as soon as possible and certainly won't be back next winter. This random price hike practice is very deceptive and the amount increased $50 a month which is not a small increase. I wish I had read reviews prior and avoided this price hike scam others have complained about. They also force you to pay their insurance even with proof of your own vehicle coverage "in case you store anything else in there". Avoid this place and find yourself a fixed rate. I could have paid $200 a month fixed elsewhere and after a couple months here I am now paying $227 a month for a 10x20 outside unit! ... Read more

"Free Month" was not true. I purchased a 20x10 unit online because it was after hours and no one was on site. I called the next day to take advantage of the first month free offer and they told me it wasn't available for that unit. I filled the first 20x10 unit 2 days later and I needed more room. So I rented a second 20x10 over the phone and asked what they could do for me. They said if I pay for 2 months, I would get 2 months free. I said great, I will do that. I then asked them if they would give me that same deal on the first unit I rented 2 days earlier and they said no. Very poor customer service. When I first bought my unit I was guaranteed that there would be close no mice infestations, but every single time I come into my unit this is what I see. I’ve been trying to make a claim for months but have gotten no where?? I’m paying double the amount for a temperature controlled unit and having more trouble than I when I had an outdoor unit. If I could give this storage unit 0 stars I would. We purchased a 10x30 controlled indoor storage unit as we had a number of not only expensive items, but sentimental things stored in our unit that we wanted to make sure were well taken care of. This is one of the most expensive units available. Upon moving out, we discovered our entire unit was literally covered in mouse droppings; every box, every piece of furniture, all over the floor. A $2,500 power recliner leather sofa was part of their “home” and was completely ruined, along with an oriental rug and many items within our boxes. Our movers had to remove dead mice stuck to tape on our boxes for us.
If you’re thinking that buying insurance with your unit will protect you, it will not. Within the fine print I found out that the max claim reimbursement for an extermination issue was $500, when we had over $3,000 in damages.
I tried working with prime storage (Lorraine) who was initially helpful and pretended to try and help me, until she stopped returning my phone calls and went completely dark. Wonderful customer service.
This facility is disgusting, the people here do not care about your belongings, they will lie over and over that they’ve put extermination processes in place that are clearly not working. We had several conversations with other tenants when moving out who all mentioned they had made complaints multiple times and nothing was changed.
I cannot stress enough that if you care even remotely about what you are storing, go somewhere else. Our movers mentioned that this was one of the most disgusting storage units they had ever seen.
