TLDR new ownership is terrible. This facility changed ownership about a year ago. The new owners/Prime storage fired the onsite management who worked there for years (we started storing there in 2020). The change has been disastrous. I have interacted with 8 different people from Prime storage about trying to move out but there is no one onsite (they moved to a virtual model). They have lied about my move out, blocked granting access to my husband who is also on the account, never read or respond to email, and their district managers don’t follow up which is problematic as the customer service reps who staff the phones have no decision making capability. Don’t use them! I have a public storage unit as well and they are so much more responsive and smooth with all comms. This has been a nightmare and cost many hours of time as well as tons of money because i had to cancel movers since no one is available to confirm a move out. Caveat emptor under new management. oh also any phone call to them just yields more "we'll escalate this to a manager" which results in zero action. Sad sad customer "service." ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.

The facility at 5 Mill Lane offers 24/7 access, allowing you to visit your unit at your convenience.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.

Security helps protect your belongings while they’re in storage and gives you peace of mind between visits. Many self storage facilities use a combination of features such as video surveillance, gated access, on-site management, and well-lit premises to help deter unauthorized access.

Yes, most standard vehicles can be stored in self storage units. A 10x20 unit typically provides enough space for a car, while outdoor or designated parking areas may be available for larger vehicles.
