Excessive rate increases, paint peeling on concrete in units, RAT FECES in crevices, insulation falling from the ceiling, water leaks that create mold (and for the money this greedy company gouges people out if you’d think they’d effectively address this like any other storage facility, but no…), security cameras that DO NOT WORK in places or are altogether missing, and a pattern of non responsiveness to tenant complaints force many to seek newer, more affordable storage options. For a very old facility this place simply can’t justify the high prices beyond lining the pockets of the management company. The biggest joke of all is a facility that does the bare minimum to maintain its integrity, allows water to pool in the ceiling that results in widespread leaks, persists in raising the rates and takes advantage of people who might find it challenging to relocate their items to another facility. These rate increases happen like clockwork, so don’t be fooled by the enticing, ephemeral “promotions”. It’s worth vacating and finding a safer, well sealed and maintained facility at a more economical price. West coast storage is rather shamelessly greedy and neglects repairs (their idea of fixing the ceiling is to tape it with gorilla tape, which invariably doesn’t hold), does nothing to address previously reviewed rat infestations, falling/torn ceilings, and forces this sham “Bader” insurance for 15.00 a month, which covers nothing in the event of damage. There are far better, newer, more affordable facilities to patronize. ... Read more

Storage was fine, but charged us for an extra month after we asked to terminate. The contract requires notification in writing a month in advance, so technically legal, but shady that they didn't say anything about this when we notified verbally, and then refused to refund. ... Read more

Cant believe how great doing business with this company was. Called from my home in another city to get a storage unit for someone there in Springfield. They were transparent with the services they offered and prices. Required no extra fees for long distance business like the 2 I called previously. Friendly, efficient with reasonable rates. What more could anybody ask for? ... Read more

I have not used a storage facility before and this experience has been the best. Wendy was accommodating and she explained the way it all works, amid my many questions, so well. Although this is a short two month rental, I think, I will be much more comfortable doing this again as a way to keep items that no longer fit in my garage yet need to kept for sentimental or real $$ value instead of eBay or giving them away too quickly. 5-stars! ... This was a great experience from our first phone inquiry to signing the dotted line. The manager was kind, professional, helpful and accommodating. She made sure we got what we needed for a super good price and she let us know what sales where going on at the time of move in. We are very happy with it. ... Read more

Rick & Erin were so helpful in this transitional period while I was moving. Quick and painless process getting a unit, decent rates, and “storage genie” system that opens when you get to the gate was cool. Highly recommend! ... Read more

The facility is cleaned and looks nice. However working with this storage company has been a nightmare. I got a unit through a promotion they were doing where the first month was discounted. They still charged me the full amount. I called twice to let them know about the over charge. The first time went well and I thought they would be refunding me. Nope. A few days later another person called stating that they would be applying a credit instead (even though I told them I want a refund), I told them no I do not want a credit as I would not be there for another month, I'd rather get a refund. The man I spoke to told me that refunds take a long time (because of the company they go through) but would push it through. Well it's going on three weeks and still no refund. I have tried several times to get a hold of someone but no one will answer. They sometimes will call back and leave a voicemail to call them back but when I do they do not answer (I am calling during business hours). This company does not have their stuff together and I cannot wait to get my stuff out of their facility and TO GET MY REFUND! ... Read more

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.
