DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. The storage units aren’t as big as advertised and they’ll take your money regardless without any obligation to make things right. Paid for a 10x15 unit which is $171.00 after fees, but what I was received was actually 7x15, and after measuring it and showing the property attendant, she proceeded to tell me that they don’t have 7x15 units, and that they only charge for 10x15’s, and that there’s nothing they can do because they don’t offer refunds or credits - this was after we argued about the size and I had to bring out the tape measurer. I’ve never witnessed a company so incredibly reluctant to make things right. Additionally, the gate was broken, they don’t treat for insects or pests (spiders everywhere), and it’s impossible to get in contact with anyone other than the front attendant who has no power to do anything. This experience was truly disappointing. ... Read more

Entry gate is constantly broken to access the property. It's not a priority for them. No way to reach these people nor do they check Facebook messages. Monthly price keeps going up. No bathroom on site. Lanes aren't wide enough, Only one vehicle can fit through at a time or park in front of their storage. Their insurance only covers up to $2,000. The actual storage dimensions are a foot less in length, Than advertised. Their idea of climate control storage is just running the AC. Anytime you call for availability they always say they're running low on units, when every single locker you see or drive by has a yellow tag on it ready to be rented. Honestly didn't want to write this review. I know how a Google review can reflect on a business and revenue, but I needed stuff out of my locker for consecutive weeks and the gate is always broken. I've called and mentioned to these people and it's a new song and dance every time and one of the associates gave me lip for some reason. Honestly, if you want consistency, accountability and reliability I would just look elsewhere. ... Read more

Came to get stuff into my unit and code doesn't work! Its Sunday and no way to get a hold of anyone! This is the only day we have to get stuff into the unit as we are moving, the whole reason we got the unit now we are out of luck paying to use a storage unit we wont be able to put things into. ... Great experience using A+ (Assured storage?) for a move recently. They had a HUGE 10'x25' unit that I was able to store a ton of boxes in. Renting a unit was easy and fast. They had locks for sale at the office that were reasonably priced. Tammy was great and resolved the one issue I had with my entry code quickly. Will definitely use again if I need to store some stuff. ... Read more

I really like this place for storing goods, and had used it twice in the past. However I won't be going here again. My daughter goes to school close by and about 5 or 6 times in the past 2 years I've had to stop in there to let her use the restroom (these have only been emergency situations) where she said she couldn't hold it and there is not a gas station for awhile down the same road (she's 6), and I was embarrassed to even go in there to ask. Today was one of those instances, and every time I've went in there I immediately apologize for the situation. The lady there working today told me to please not make a habit of it which is fine, but then followed up with, and in her words "we are not a gas station". Which yes I completely understand that but too state this as if I'm just taking advantage of them being there is nonsense, and seriously why such a big deal, not like we went in there everyday. And as stated before I really never wanted to stop in there, and was embarrassed to in the first place. I really felt like she handled it in a strange way, and wasn't really nice about it, so when I left I told her we wouldn't be back again to use the restroom, and also that I had done business there in the past, and wouldn't be back for that either. As I really felt put off by the way they went about it. Well I was going to leave it at that and I wouldn't have left a review about the situation here except for the fact about what happened next. She got out from behind her desk and walked out the front door and was literally yelling some stuff at me while my daughter was trying to get in the car. I honestly couldn't believe it. Look we all have bad days, but yell in front of my daughter?! That deserves a google review about the situation. ... Read more

The facilities are nice, and the service is good, but the prices are just too high, and they require that you carry insurance which makes it cost even more. 10x10 is $99 and if you don't get your own insurance then they charge you another $9 per month for a builtin default insurance policy. I just moved out because a 10x14 finally opened up in a facility down the road. It only cost $60, doesn't require any insurance that I don't want, and has 24 hour access. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.

To open your storage unit door, start by unlocking it, whether it uses a traditional padlock or a Bluetooth-enabled smart lock. Once unlocked, grab the bottom handle and lift or pull up the roll-up door until it’s fully open.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.

Security helps protect your belongings while they’re in storage and gives you peace of mind between visits. Many self storage facilities use a combination of features such as video surveillance, gated access, on-site management, and well-lit premises to help deter unauthorized access.

At Public Storage - 4205 Shelbyville Hwy, available security amenities may include Security Camera, Gate, Onsite Manager, designed to help keep your items protected.

Yes, most standard vehicles can be stored in self storage units. A 10x20 unit typically provides enough space for a car, while outdoor or designated parking areas may be available for larger vehicles.
