Unfortunately I had to end my unit due to immense rodent feces and rising cost every year.. This property has A rodent infestation. My unit was ravished.. rodent feces all over everything. I had collectors items, and so much stuff and there were dripping all over everything as well as liquid excretion all over everything so much So, that alot had to be discarded and or sanitized before I could handle it. And there was absolutely NO food in my unit to attract mice. I had to put a tarp up, but the damage was already done. Also the unit cost kept increasing$20-30. I moved my things into another storage facility. Last but important issue is the lack of in personal staff when you call the numbers. I sat outside for 4 hours trying to wait for an attendant to use a key when all the door pads where out of order for 4 days. The attendant on the kiosk told me it could tale 24 hrs to call someone.. when they knew the key pads were out for past 4 days due to dallas storm. Which Caused me to leave 4 hours late for an 8 hr drive which then forced me to stop and stay in a hotel overnigh, an unexpected expense. The ONLY Bright spot was Jasmin, the attendant that helped my my move out day 1/29/2026. She gave me access when no entry access pads worked etc.. and was kind and helpful. ... Read more

Automated customer service. No human works there. Reviews that talk about a manager must be fake. There is a box where you can virtually talk to someone in a call center. Every single access box is broken so you enter through a busted door. All of the doors are numbered to make absolutely no sense. The unit they rented me online one of the locks had been sawed through. I was told they could put in a work order. But whoever unlocked it and put a blue ziptip thing on it, knew it was busted and did nothing. Most units were missing lock, doors were busted, not wheelchair or even cart accessible as there are steps inside to the 1st floor units. Seemed pretty cold for "climate control". I am worried about what summer will feel like. Not the quality I expect from Public Storage. This place is trash. I regret paying for this online. ... Read more

I had a great experience at Public Storage, and I especially want to highlight the outstanding customer service I received from Raini. From the moment I walked in, Raini was welcoming, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. She took the time to walk me through all my options, answered every question with patience, and made the whole process smooth and stress-free. The facility itself was clean, secure, and well-maintained, but it was Raini's professionalism and friendly attitude that really stood out. It's not every day you come across someone who genuinely cares about making sure you have everything you need, and Raini went above and beyond to help me find the right unit at the right price. If you're looking for a storage facility with great service, I highly recommend this location—and definitely ask for Raini if you can! ... Read more

The price kept going up ,the place had an issue with rats. And my unit and several others were broken into and things were stolen. The manager and the district manager did not follow the proper protocol when I discovered the breaking and several other people who had their units broken into told me the same thing and 3 months later I'm still waiting on the manager to look at the security video and get back with me so I can file a police report and give them the video also I can't even file on the insurance because the manager simply will not do their job. My experience has totally sucked because of the management failing to do their job . ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.

To open your storage unit door, start by unlocking it, whether it uses a traditional padlock or a Bluetooth-enabled smart lock. Once unlocked, grab the bottom handle and lift or pull up the roll-up door until it’s fully open.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.

Security helps protect your belongings while they’re in storage and gives you peace of mind between visits. Many self storage facilities use a combination of features such as video surveillance, gated access, on-site management, and well-lit premises to help deter unauthorized access.

At Public Storage - 12343 East Northwest Hwy, available security amenities may include Security Camera, Gate, Onsite Manager, designed to help keep your items protected.

Yes, most standard vehicles can be stored in self storage units. A 10x20 unit typically provides enough space for a car, while outdoor or designated parking areas may be available for larger vehicles.
