Read some helpful reviews of Sunbelt Self Storage, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I want to share my experience I have been renting for 3 years and I was leaving an abusive relationship and Mr Mike helped me and I was going thru so much I was thankful for his kindness. Well my ex was financially abusive and it made my life spiral out of control . I continued to rent but the last year it was hard to pay - so many challenges the police were not helpful at all either . So I kept my stuff there and told Mr Thurman the new manager I would pay be patient not trying to run from my debt and all my babies albums baby stuff family ornaments in there. I called often and emailed too Mr Thurman did not call me or even email me back . I emailed a copy that was given from family abuse advocacy stating by law I’m protected and my bill will be paid . I spoke to Mr Mike told him situation and he assured me of the situation . I got no mail no calls I’m asking for help I will pay for my family treasures ! I lost everything .i called another location miss Kim helped me and she really could sympathize and also stopped the tears. I get a call the next day Mr Thurman yelling at me why did I call Plano office and talk to area manager but I was charged with late fees on top of the rent , I was asking to keep bill down .I asked to stop yelling at me could not believe the lack of compassion I had to call someone I could not talk to his boss or the owners.I was directed from family victims services. Again I will be paying bill. Today I call to update them and I was told my stuff was auctioned off . I did not share the journey of violence I already endured ! I am telling you do not rent here! The customer service went down , they close early and mainly if these people can’t help victims or even be kind I am still going to pay my debt even if I was wronged . Business is business but take your business elsewhere ! I called to ask if they could give my number to auction buyer no! They did not even want to help ! I was given an attitude and Thurman would not even get in phone ! I googled auction name and guess what it’s the same people ! I have a legal aide attorney if anyone had this experience please share I’m sharing everywhere ! ... Read more

My daughter and I visited six different storage places and Sunbelt Storage in Plano was by far the best so we went with them. Their manager, Carol, is old school with old school values and she keeps that place in tip top condition and clean. Their rates were very good and our entire experience was exceptional! Kevin ... Sunbelt is a fantastic storage unit I have been here pretty much since they opened. The place is keep immaculate! The lanes inside are wide and make it easy to navigate with my RV and the spaces are roomy. I also have a 10x10 climates control unit inside. They always have a cart conveniently located to help move stuff in and out. Mike and Thurman are both awesome, they are both super sweet and willing to help whenever they can. I enjoy being greeted by them and they know me by name when I come through! They do a great job ensuring deliveries make it safely to my unit even when I am not expecting deliveries! Finally it’s important to mention how safe and secure the space is. The gate has always been functional and locked until I use my pin. Previous places I have stored that was not the case. I also love though the office keeps hours there is generally someone there in an emergency situation even outside of those hours. ... Read more

Wow! Wow! Wow! Manager Mike is an awesome guy! My family and I were going through some difficulties with our new apartment complex and we weren’t able to move in on schedule. Mike was very understanding and allowed us to keep our belongings in storage 2 extra days after our month was over. These days it’s extremely hard to find good people (like Mike) who genuinely care about others. Maybe I caught him on a good day, who knows? But he took really good care of us. They also do a GREAT job with keeping up with the facility! Highly recommend this place!!!! ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
