Update: I goofed. Still a five-star review, but Ray is at a different location...I called the wrong Montrose location. So Ray helped undo my transaction and Daniel helped me book the perfect unit. Thanks, Daniel & Ray! You both saved me! I don’t think I’ve ever had a good experience with a storage facility—until now. I accidentally booked the wrong unit online and called Big Tex Storage expecting a hassle. Instead, I got Ray. Ray was kind, patient, and handled everything quickly and easily. No stress. No runaround. Just genuinely helpful service from someone who clearly cares. In a world where customer service often feels like a lost art, this little interaction stood out in the best way. Thanks, Ray. You made a potentially frustrating day feel easy. ... Read more

We were doing some remodeling at our place and needed a place to store dining and living room furniture for a couple of months so we went down the street to Big Tex on Richmond / Woodhead. Danny was amazing and very efficient in showing us options and listening to what we thought we needed. The options provided by him were great! He transferred our online signed contract to provide us a more suitable size room for our needs. I definitely recommend the place which was very clean, properly monitored and near to our house. You won’t regret it! Efrain ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
