Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage at 3430 West Walnut Hill Lane, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

You will regret renting from. These people i promise you. Twice now they went up on their units without notice. And its convenient on how they say " we sent you a notice in the mail" twice they said that and twice no notice. I been with them 1 year and my unit went from 88.00 to 208.in one year. And nothing has changed at this property. No upgrades. Still alot of homeless hanging around. Yet they have no problem raising your rent. And on top of it their manager Diana is rude. So again beware if you rent because i promise you they will screw you ... Read more

ATTENTION FUTURE RENTER'S AND CORPORATE OFFICE, on Sept. 25, 2025 I received a refund on my storage unit that was not at all what the district manage Ty said would be. Don't believe the lies never use this company. This location steals from the units. JUNE 24,2025 @ 12:42pm. I reached out to CORPORATE about being LOCKED OUT of my unit. no CORPORATE explained only two reasons why a lock would be replaced with a public storage lock. (1) being that I forgot to lock or close and secure the lock. (2) Unit broken into. VERONICA, VERIFIES, my INFORMATION, PROCEEDS to allow me to explain, and as I was explaining to my sister and daughter as well on another line. Veronica said that I was wrong and retacted what she said. So, I repeated it again, May was when my unit was found without a lock? (My sister walks in to see Veronica rolling her eyes and making faces as I speak to her) Veronica, told both of us she would unlock the unit while my sister was there. So, she proceeded to hang up and started to look for keys. My sister said she began to state we should calm down, and my sister asked her why she was acting in an unprofessional manner? if she was having a bad day? As a paying customers, there was no need to use profanity or be disrespectful when we where just asking question about the unit and we did not come to her in a manner that would require her to be disrespectful. Veronica got belligerent and irate with my sister, creating a hostile environment, and threatened her. Making us feel unsafe and unheard. Veronica declined to open the unit and wasted our time and refused to open the unit and assist us. My sister left the area and called for help. I called corporate and was told that Veronica said she was unlocking the doors, which I told them my sister left the property because of her threatening her. So, I wanted to speak to the corporate manager. I was told they would call the following day. Veronica was not willing to help and on a power trip, very childish and unprofessional. UPDATE JUNE 30, 2025 DISTRICT MANAGER TY called to rectify the situation. First, Ty offered an apology for how things were handled and understood my position as a customer and the service I experienced from a manager under his supervision. The lack of communication and treatment of people who pay for a service, entrusting that you will keep their possession safe to the best of your ability, communicate, and respectfully treat them they way you would want to be treated during an inconvenience and upsetting situation that could of been handled better. Ty took the time to hear my complaint, my concerns, and even other ways to correct the situation in a timely manner. He also made his plea why he needed me to update my review in a few moments so he wouldn't be affected. I informed him that my update would not be a lie because I feel that Veronica should apologize for her own action. He apologizes for allowing so much time to pass before reaching out.. ... Read more

OK, my unit is 3154 so I am giving this facility a one star if I could give it zero stars and negative stars I’d probably not take that back. I’ll give it one star because their staff their staff is great and they’re only doing their job. My frustration with this facility is since I got in the storage unit, I’ve been getting a reoccurring fee over and over and over on my account and I’ve been told to pay this fee over and over. I have been told that I would be credited my account. It will be fixed, but long story short is not fixed. I’m still having to pay this fee over and over meaning that I’m paying too much money and then it’s still saying that my account isn’t negative or still owe money causing my unit to sometimes almost going to auction. It’s very frustrating on top of that if that’s the case, I feel like the extra money that I’ve been paying should go towards whatever supposedly I owe and I’d pay the difference. If anything was out this is been happening since I’ve opened the storage unit and it’s been about almost if not more than six months. That’s not the only thing that has occurred my storage unit has also been broken into this is frustrating because whoever broke into it, they put their own lock onto it and they can’t get in my storage unit to see if anything is even been taken because they have to have someone cut the lock off at the time I storage unit was current. I was told that they was going to give me a new lock after they cut that lock off so I have not been able to get into my storage unit. It’s been about two weeks and there’s still no new lock. They said that they had to get a new locksmith. OK that’s cool that’s fine but they wouldn’t be able to let me in because now my storage unit is doing it. Frustrated because I haven’t been able to get in my storage unit as I should as I should be able to on top of that. I’m still paying an extra fee. That’s been over six months every single month of and then on top of that, the lock has not been replaced like I said it was going to be replaced now that I need something very important out of my storage that’s getting determined somebody’s else’s freedom whatever I cannot even get into my storage so I am leaving this review hoping that I don’t know somebody because I’ve contacted customer service and they said that I do not owe anything and then I’m actually I’m like I have a credit on my account. The facility says something different. I reached out to the district manager. I left a voicemail I I’m just really at my once in because at this point I don’t like to look at stuff and think stuff like this, but it’s low-key is like y’all are just taking my money like and I don’t see eyes as that type of company but I don’t I don’t. I just don’t know what to do so even with the last missed come and they changed a lot. I can’t get in my account. I can’t get in my storage and that still yet I don’t know if anyone’s been taken, but where has been taken they didn’t catch the people who broke into my storage unit, but even then so I still don’t know anything. It’s been well over two weeks plus over six months with a reoccurring fee that I’m having to pay every month and being told that I’d be taken care of, but it’s not. ... Read more

I also apologized that it had to come to this. However, having time to review everything and how ?? it didn't have urgency that my belongs were violated and destroyed. My sister was late for her job, and I still have no clue what's missing, broken, destroyed, memories lost, and the lack of respect and understanding for me being out of town and paying others to be reliable and trustworthy. That memories can't be replaced. Ty should not have to come back from vacation to deal with something that a manager could have handled better and not let it escalate. No understanding or remorse from the manager who could help sell you a unit and go above and beyond to make sure those customers were taken care of.. but my mom's memories were not worth compassion or respect while I'm grieving losing her. I pray that you don't have to deal with the lack of concern beyond that mighty dollar. God bless you ... Read more

Recognition for Outstanding Service I just wanted to take a moment to give Veronica the recognition she truly deserves for her exceptional service. I've had my unit for over three years, and throughout that time, any issue or concern I’ve brought up, Veronica has handled with care and urgency. Even when the matter may not have directly fallen under her responsibilities, she always made me feel as though it was her top priority. She ensures I have all the relevant information and follows through until the issue is fully resolved. Her commitment to service and customer care is truly commendable. ... Read more

Very janky people working here. You will pay for your first month and after that they’ll try to find any reason to get more money out of you. They called and said I had littered which was a complete lie. A week later called and said I owe them money which doesn’t even make sense. I just got the unit a week ago. They never answer the phone. The property has homeless people sleeping next to units and wondering around by units. ... Read more

Don’t rent here. I pulled up to get some belongings from my unit and some other customers told me that no one can get in because none of the pin pads work. None of the lights are on, pin pads don’t work and there are no stairs to the upstairs units. SO, the attached photos reflect just that. There is NEVER anyone in their office, the elevator always smells rancid, and there is no way to speak to an actual person. A mess. Simply a mess. 0/10 would not recommend and whoever runs this shack should reconsider customer service or business. Edit/update: After further consideration since the manager of the facility reached out to me so promptly to rectify the situation and to update me on the status of the property, I have changed my review to 5 stars. ... I had a horrible experience. Theft, Roaches, Price increases… etc. I had 2 units (1 exterior / 1 interior) for approximately 2 years. I got the storage units because I had gotten laid off back to back; and it made sense for me to store my items once I got back on my feet. It was a struggle financially for some time; so I was running about 2 weeks behind with payments for a few months. As such, management cut my personal locks off and placed their own. I was no longer located in the area and also didn’t have a vehicle. So once I got my account back on track, for about a year either they would call me or I would call in to reconfirm that their locks would remain on my units so that at no time they would be unsecured. I actually offered to purchase locks through them and have them mail the keys; and they advised that they would just keep their locks on my unit. My mistake was trusting the staff; because if they were the only people with access to my units, I can’t think any other way that items would go missing when I came to move out in Oct 2024. (Specifically, a 24inch curved monitor, a 24 inch flat screen TV and a mini refrigerator.) When I called the office to advise items were missing; there was no sympathy or apology offered. The rep was quite rude and told me to file an insurance claim, police report and I’d have to talk to the district manager. Something about the way she spoke to me made me very suspicious to be honest. At the time, I just didn’t want to believe that staff would’ve stolen from me; but again… I can’t see any other way my items would’ve gone missing if they were the only ones with access to my units. I filed a report with Irving PD and an insurance claim. It took TWO WEEKS for the insurance company to even respond to my claim; which is now in process - so we will see how that goes. The police officer advised me that I may have to take them to court to be reimbursed for my losses if they deny my claim… and considering how much I was paying monthly; I am prepared to do just that. Because at the very least, my items should’ve been safe under their watch. Let me also add, my rates were raised about every 6 months. I started off paying $168 & $170/mth for the 2 units. At the time of move out, I was paying $349/$290. Trying to get someone on the phone to try and negotiate the prices was a nightmare and the District Manager was not the best to work with. I had to call the corporate office in order to get him to return my call. Lastly, I had the foresight to move everything from the storage units into my garage so I could go through everything. The amount of dead bugs and roaches was traumatizing to see. I expected some things in the outside until, but the same applied to things that were in the inside unit. There were bugs crawling on things; it was absolutely disgusting. I had to throw out quite a few things; clothing in particular. When I arrived at my units to move out, I actually thought that the movers had left things in disarray; but after speaking to them and showing photos - it became clear that my units had been rifled through; and things were thrown around. So I would never ever recommend this public storage location. The area that it’s in is also not a good area; so buyer beware. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Public Storage - 3430 West Walnut Hill Lane has to offer. These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Keyless Unit Access, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Public Storage - 3430 West Walnut Hill Lane can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 50 to 200 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by Public Storage - 3430 West Walnut Hill Lane come at a variety of prices, starting from $31 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $140 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
