I just removed all my belongings after being in stored in two of their climate controlled units. Everything was still in perfect condition. No semblance of moisture damage or any evidence of bugs. I am a clean freak, so this is saying a lot. On the few occasions I had to contact management they were always kind and responsive. It is experiences like this that remind me why I support small business. ... Read more

Hello everyone and hope you all had a great Labor Day weekend. This place here was the greatest storage unit I have ever had. I rented one of the large units that had two doors and could drive through as it was huge. I had checked all the area and found this to be the only one of this size in the area. I rented I guess for seven months, qhile searching for a home to buy. The management was very friendly. I had set my monthly payments up for auto pay and every month was played on time and no stress of doing the payment myself. I took advantage of the dumpster there with reasonable amount of trash each time I needed and was welcomed to leave a work vehicle overnight when I had needed. The manager made it so easy working there with my storage. I will definitely refer this company for storage in the future and use again myself. Thank you all there at Zion Crossing Self Storage. ... Hi everyone! I recently found myself in a situation where I had to move and needed a place to keep my belongings temporarily. After searching all of Charlottesville, these guys not only had availability, but they also had some of the best rates. I kept my things here for just over 3 months and never had any issues whatsoever. Management and the facility are nice, you can't go wrong here! ... Read more

Good storage units, good price. Manager good to work with. I've had several storage units at different times and have been really happy. Not too sure what the one bad review is for. I guess if you don't pay on time you might have to pay a late fee and I guess some people just don't understand. ... Read more

My family and I just moved out of the storage unit after getting settled in. The manager was very flexible in letting us downsize after being there a month or so. When it was time that we did not need the unit, we were able to leave with no problems. The area is clean. Prices were affordable and somebody is always there during business hours. It was a life saver during our transition. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.
