Edit: It has been 9 months since Moving in with West Coast Self- Storage and I have to say that my experience has not changed. My rent has gone up, but it went up at the yearly time I was warned it was going to go up. It was not after 3 months, and in the 9 months, I still haven't experienced a price hike in the short amount of time like I did at extra storage. And the price hike was cheaper than extra storage. My stuff has remained safe and not covered in cobwebs or anything of the sort, and the facility is maintained well by the courteous employees. I would recommend 10/10. Original: Moving from Extra Space Storage to here! Extra Space Storage increased my rent after the first 3 months and promised to increase it again before the year was out. This facility has the same quality and cleanliness as Extra Space Storage, without all the rent increasing, (other than the one time they do). Gary was great showing us around and explaining everything to us from security to billing! And was just wonderful doing with my 4 year old singing the whole time! I look forward to moving in and editing this comment with more outstanding praises while my stuff stays in storage. Thank you again Gary! ... Read more

1/4/25 - Hi, this is Not necc a Reflection of this particular WestCoast SelfStorage— but I just had a really Bad Experience — Was both Rudely Treated, Messaged in Condescending fashion and the Issue was NOT Resolved by the WestCoastStorage Chat Help Feature. I was trying to pay for my Unit here online. Incl are Screenshots and Reviews I gave on the Rep, “Ortega.” “Review sent to Company: In Trying to Login — and make my Payment, the Website Refused to Recognize my Account at Sign up and When I tried to create a New Account— they said I already HAD An Account. Upon Interaction, The Operator was NOT Listening and Went on to explain as if he was not understanding or Acting I was an One-Off — with Statements like “I Just Signed in” and “No one has Complained.” He was Disappointing and he immediately hung up this chat after i said Hes not being Empathetic. This is NOT the typical great Service I get from West Coast Storage Reps. Being from Customer Service background, this Ortega person deserves to be Re-Trained and Demoted. -SC ... Read more

Their prices are reasonable and fair and please don’t raise the rent too high - inflation is really hurting people and it’s nice to see fair pricing with this company - This sets them apart as a good company - The Manager Gary is very kind - and professional and I appreciate the straightforward interaction I had with him and getting me set up very quickly - They keep the facility extremely clean which is a refreshing change from other storage facilities I’ve been at. Great job again and please keep doing what you’re doing. Thank you so much! ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.

The facility at 501 SE 164th Avenue is accessible during regular access hours, typically Mon-Sat: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Office hours and gate access times may differ, so it’s a good idea to check the facility’s posted schedule before your visit.

To open your storage unit door, start by unlocking it, whether it uses a traditional padlock or a Bluetooth-enabled smart lock. Once unlocked, grab the bottom handle and lift or pull up the roll-up door until it’s fully open.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.

Security helps protect your belongings while they’re in storage and gives you peace of mind between visits. Many self storage facilities use a combination of features such as video surveillance, gated access, on-site management, and well-lit premises to help deter unauthorized access.

At West Coast Self-Storage - 501 SE 164th Avenue, available security amenities may include Security Camera, Onsite Manager, designed to help keep your items protected.

Yes, most standard vehicles can be stored in self storage units. A 10x20 unit typically provides enough space for a car, while outdoor or designated parking areas may be available for larger vehicles.

For safety reasons, most self storage facilities restrict certain items. These commonly include:

    • Hazardous, flammable, or toxic materials
