Read some helpful reviews of KO Storage, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Rented with these guys before and didn't have any problem. But now I am renting from them a second time and they just out of nowhere, up the monthly rate after 2 months of renting with them, so I am cancelling once I find new storage. I had heard from other tenants that they were doing this and hoped it wasn't true but, alas, it is. I won't rent from them again and if you don't like randomly being charged more for nothing, then look for storage elsewhere. I talked to them on the phone, and they wouldn't keep the price the same and claimed market rates in the area are why they are charging more. So? That doesn't mean they have to charge more. It's just greed. All they would do was come down a litle so I was still being charged more than the original price by like 35$. They also wouldn't guarantee that the rates wouldn't go up again in another 2 months. They claim they value their customers but if this was true, they would actually try to do something to make me stay, such as keep the price the same. I ran into at least 3 others who were angry about this at the facility and were moving as well. Hopefully I can convince others not to rent with them. It's almost like these guys are trying to actively discourage people from renting from them! One last thing is the driveway is never swept of debris, and I have found numerous nails and screws that I have picked up just in our aisle alone. Was just there again today and whoever mowed the lawn just leaves the piles of grass clippings in the driveway. These guys don't care they just want your money and will up the rates. I can get the same size unit not much further away for significantly cheaper than I was originally paying here. I don't want to move and chose this place because it's closer to home but won't put up with being charged more for nothing. ... Read more

If I could rate it any lower, I would. On day 2 of having my belongings in a 5x5 storage unit, it stormed and the ceiling leaked water all over my things. I was moving overseas with the military so my family moved everything out on my behalf within a week of the rental starting. We have been trying to contact their customer service but they are a non-centralized chain so you can’t get to the manager you need at your location. No manager or supervisor has EVER followed up despite many phone and email attempts. They continue to ignore and then charge me for it. Can’t believe the terrible conditions and customer service for such a simple product. Still waiting to hear back so I can terminate my lease and get a full refund for the unit and damages. ... Worst storage facility you could possibly choose. The location is in terrible shape, trash all over the place, the door was broken on the unit we got, roof leaks, and inside was dirty. To top it off, after 2 months of renting, they raised the rent from $129 to $193!!! A 50% increase! Bait and switch, do not rent here. ... Read more

No one mentioned the call center wouldn't be available on Easter Sunday. They just touted 7 day a week support. The unit we purchased had a broken door. We called to see where to go and no one answered so we just picked one. No one responded to the two calls we left Monday morning about this. I called and was yelled at for my actions and told I had to move everything. When I got to the new unit I was supposed to move into, it was unlocked but full. I called again and got someone very pleasant. Turns out there is never anyone on sight as there is no office and there is no security other than your lock. Two suspicious vehicles drove by when we were there. If it weren't for the good location and that fact that we are just tired of moving they same stuff we would be out of there. ... Read more

KO Storage bought B & J, and I've moved out early - mainly because of the company's mandatory insurance policy. Otherwise, KO seems okay overall - organized and friendly enough, I've found. Also, I had a trusting long-term relationship with B & J, and now I feel better starting over closer to home in Milwaukee. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.

The facility at 2325 Pinehurst Drive offers 24/7 access, allowing you to visit your unit at your convenience.

To open your storage unit door, start by unlocking it, whether it uses a traditional padlock or a Bluetooth-enabled smart lock. Once unlocked, grab the bottom handle and lift or pull up the roll-up door until it’s fully open.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.

Security helps protect your belongings while they’re in storage and gives you peace of mind between visits. Many self storage facilities use a combination of features such as video surveillance, gated access, on-site management, and well-lit premises to help deter unauthorized access.

At KO Storage - 2325 Pinehurst Drive, available security amenities may include Security Camera, designed to help keep your items protected.

Yes, most standard vehicles can be stored in self storage units. A 10x20 unit typically provides enough space for a car, while outdoor or designated parking areas may be available for larger vehicles.
