I had a plesant experience working with Tamicka. She contacted me to set up a visit to see the various units. Got everything set-up quickly. Had an issue with the locking mechanism and she quickly remedied that as well. Would recommend! ... Read more

Avoid these incompetent jerks at all cost. I am not one to write good or bad reviews but this place really wins gold for worst customer experience ever. They are never available to show a unit in person because they are “short staffed.” They never even offered to try to get someone over there. All over a period of 5 days. I was in a hurry to get a unit, yes. But I would never EVER buy something without seeing it first. Their hours of operation are NOT accurate. They harass you with phone calls trying to get you to purchase over the phone or online without seeing the unit first. This is the most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with. The call center reps started friendly until I voiced my concerns with their lack of accuracy and incompetence. They (multiple reps) got an attitude with me when I was frustrated and I even apologized ahead of time because I too have worked in a call center. PLUS 2 free months does not really mean that. It means $100+ will be due at the time of signing the paperwork. Beware of this place and company. I can’t wait for a rep to try to spin this around in the response to this review. I will make sure EVERYONE I know stays far far away from your company. ... Read more

This location has changed ownership to SROA from Red Dot in the past week which would explain why the gate has not been working for the past 3 weeks. It's OK for short term. I will probably never use this location after I am done. I got a letter from SROA indicating I need to sign a lease agreement. They indicated it could be done electronically but never got a link to do it online. Only way to do it is to sign a copy pulled up from the PDF sent or add the e-signature. Therefore SROA indicates that the signed rental agreement needs to be sent to the mailbox address. I stopped by 3 days ago to check my storage space and to drop off my signed copy of my rental agreement but the mailbox was incredibly packed. No point in sending a mailed copy because unless the mailbox is emptied, no mail can fit in there and will either squander on the ground or be sent back. I sent a scanned signed copy to the email address provided in the initial letter from SROA and have not heard if that is acceptable. However, I was told by an online representative that it should be accepted but I'm doubtful. So the only way SROA can motivate me to up my score here is to 1) confirm to me via email that my rental agreement is good that was sent via email 2) confirm the mailbox is empty/ready to take in signed agreements via mail or have someone in the office on site to accept signed agreements 3) get the gate fixed at some point because why pay a monthly fee at a certain price if the gate is open, should give us a discount then for the time the gate has been kept open which right now is about 3 weeks. ... I am updating my review after a conversation with Scott - The regional manager for the area. He has resolved the situation and he went above and beyond to do so. I will also be retracting my BBB complaint. I am however, still very disappointed with how the call center at SROA handled this situation - They were very deceptive, and untruthful, - my issue, nor my information was actually passed along to property management. this is definitely something that SROA needs to look into as a business. Hats off to Scott though - I am very impressed with his level of service and dedication to customers. ... Read more

So stupid! Rented a unit online last night. Few hours later I went to go check out The facility and put my lock on my unit.Maybe drop off a couple of bins. I could not get through the gate ,code wasn't working. Try again the next morning.Same thing, although this time there was a another person from Minnesota trying to do the same thing. Calling red dot and trying to explain to them turns out.I think they sold that particular storage area to a different place and everything was screwed up. So I was Never even able to get in to.Get to my unit , but they did give me my money back right away. ... Read more

Easy to rent a unit and it was affordable, but the building was disgusting. We rented a temperature controlled unit, but it smelled of mildew from the moment I walked in the building. I was constantly dodging spiderwebs in the hallways. One time I saw a dead mouse lying in the hallway outside someone else's unit. We kept our things there less than a month and moved to a storage facility that is clean and genuinely temperature controlled. ... Read more

GREAT customer service! The availability and pricing was great, but the ease of renting was awesome. I had to switch unit size and location and the CS agent was beyond helpful and made the whole experience easy and made for an excellent experience. I highly recommend Red Dot! ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.

The facility at N14 W24789 Bluemound Road offers 24/7 access, allowing you to visit your unit at your convenience.

To open your storage unit door, start by unlocking it, whether it uses a traditional padlock or a Bluetooth-enabled smart lock. Once unlocked, grab the bottom handle and lift or pull up the roll-up door until it’s fully open.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.

Security helps protect your belongings while they’re in storage and gives you peace of mind between visits. Many self storage facilities use a combination of features such as video surveillance, gated access, on-site management, and well-lit premises to help deter unauthorized access.
