First I want to say that Kyle in the office is amazing, and very helpful. I thought that Public Storage was a trustworthy company when I stored my possessions with them for years. Sadly, I learned the hard way that this is not the case. The company had a system glitch several years ago that dropped insurance for some customers without their knowledge. I did not realize my insurance was gone until rodents destroyed my belongings. I filed a claim with Public Storage and Orange Door right away, but it took a week to get a response. I was told Public Storage and Orange Door won’t cover the damage because I am one of those who lost their insurance. They would not help me at all! I would be wary of storing your belongings with Public Storage. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
