Renting a storage unit was very challenging and so much paperwork to sign. Most of the information you need is unnecessary. Plus, it’s too much information not given to the customer, such as the green lock and the 30 days notice when vacating. I found those things out after I rented the unit. The website had one price, and the customer service person had a different price. I was not told about the lock code, or how to enter the unit. I’m old. Too much confusion. ... Read more

Leslie was very sweet and professional in assisting with my request of not needing our unit any longer. She was persistent in offering a lower rate to keep my business but we won't be needing any storage units at this time. ... Read more

Great customer service from Jessica and Leslie. There was a fire in a nearby unit and we needed to get everything out of the storage unit. We use this unit for our son who goes to UGA. He was out of town for Christmas break and we live about 7 hours away. Instead of making us drive down to move our stuff, she offered to have it moved to a same size unit at no cost. Going the extra mile means a lot!! Jessica and Leslie were great! Both were super friendly and accommodating. ... Read more

Personally I had a great experience with Midgard! I've used a couple of other storage unit places in the past couple of summers that felt kind of scary to be honest, but this place was pretty secure and I never had a weird feeling about it while there. Also, the customer service reps were very kind and helpful there, especially Amanda who helped me with the move-out form process while I was too sick to actually visit the site! ... Read more

Their insurance is a huge scam. Had to make a report about theft because their employee broke into my unit (it's on a police report as found out by detective) and left my unit door open. Insurance says it's theft and not burglary. They don't cover theft. It's also pretty weird that their insurance adjuster had to reach out to the manager at midgard, and the manager on-site lied to protect their employees. Management will not answer the phone. They will not respond back to text messages, phone calls or emails in a timely manner. I have a serious situation, and nobody is doing a thing about it. Legal action is a must for these criminals! I've been with Midgard for a little over a year now. Never had any problems until recently. They are not 24-hour access, That's an extra fee you have to pay. Long story short, one of their employees cut my lock to my unit and stole a few things. It's been very difficult to contact someone who's a manager or in a position of power because it's almost 100% virtual, and the local phone numbers that they have are routed to a call center. My unit was broken into, I had to find out a month later because I don't visit it often. I called Midgard only to be routed to their call center and told the manager will get with me in a few business days. When a manager or somebody contacted me, their only response was to call the police and the police would be my point of contact. They offered no help to mitigate the situation. I pleaded with them to check the cameras and talk to the employee responsible because I just want my stuff back. They would not listen. I had to call the police and make a report. This is a serious situation, and that's how they treat customers. The detective has been going back-and-forth with Midgard, we THEN found out all the tapes have been deleted because it's been past 30 days. I'm not sure how many employees work there, but every time I've been there, it's been the same employee. There is ZERO accountability. The employee has free reign to do whatever they want without any repercussions. You think being gated with special codes to go through the gate and door to your storage unit with cameras, it would be a safe location, but it is not. It's only safe from outsiders and not from Midgard employees. I pay a premium price to have stuff stolen from my unit. Gates, codes, and cameras don't mean a thing. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
