Great customer service. Units are pretty nice. Not the greatest at keeping dust out, but a decent value. Over 2 years, we never had any issues with the storage/site. The app, i would give 1 star. Bad experience eith bluetooth connection/gate access ... Read more

I came in the office to speak to the lady Amanda. I had previously had encounters with her over the phone before when she was rude and had an attitude and that alone rubbed me the wrong way and I just chose to not to deal with her, just from the nasty attitude she gave me. And I don’t understand when this is a company owned business. Everyone there supposed to work as a team and she makes a comment that was nasty towards her coworker to me. Off that comment I got that she doesn’t like that particular person or she was trying to talk down on her. I asked her today, if I could talk to the owner or regional manager. She stated it takes 48 hours to respond or reach back out to me. I will be waiting patiently the 48 hours. ... Read more

First after my husband passed I put the things I was sure the moving company would not take to Delaware from Kansas because I was over my amount so with me having a couple friends in Kansas still selling my items and me keeping my doctors there as well I would come there at least 3 times a year. So it started with a 5x5 but I needed another 5x5 well moving company did the old bait and switch demanding thousands over our quoted price and my losing 1,500 to them I had to open a larger storage to get the things in it.Automatic payments and they charge for keys and locks then they raised my prices on all three storages. It’s just crazy how they do things even to loyal customers. They would have made a lot more from me had the prices stayed the same since I was expecting close to a year for my items to remain there. Yesterday a couple friends emptied out one smalll one and was able after selling a few items to get it all into the larger storage so that will save me some until I get there in May to close it out altogether. Amanda is nice but to raise the prices like they have and I had to buy a lock for each unit, the cylinder locks when I’m used to being able to put my own lock and then they charged deposit and insurance on each unit. It’s just way to costly and i could see if they were more modern, nice and clean and all climate controlled ones but paying that much for such a poor looking units with rickety doors no I’ve got to shut all mine down and if I need a storage I will move to another location and different company ... Terrible. They gave me a gate code that doesn’t work. My payment is auto drafted so that isn’t the problem…If you call customer service and try to follow the prompts, it doesn’t connect you to talk to anyone. So basically I paid for my stuff to be locked away where I have no access to it ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Public Storage - 5500 State Avenue has to offer. These amenities include Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Public Storage - 5500 State Avenue can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 25 to 250 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by Public Storage - 5500 State Avenue come at a variety of prices, starting from $48 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $198 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
