From start to finish, my experience with Pioneer Valley Storage -Hatfield was outstanding. All the customer service people I spoke with were super helpful and friendly. The pricing was very good. There are some rules you have follow carefully (all outlined in the rental agreement) but I did, and the entire experience was smooth and easy…everything I needed and wanted for storing my stuff. Thanks PVS-H!! ... Read more

I started using this storage facility about 4-5 years ago and when Pioneer took it over my rental costs doubled. I understand the economics of running a business, but I have the smallest unit possible and am paying just shy of $100.00 a month,. In addition the undue requirement of having homeowner's insurance on the worthless contents of the unit adds an addition cost. ie. insurance won't cover my photographs and memories. I will be looking for a different alternative. ... Read more

They promised a rate of $50/mo. They parked us in a muddy low spot and parked another trailer in front of us, requiring 2wks notice if we wanted to take our trailer out. It took a full month of stopping by (no one on site) and calling (no return call to many messages) before a manager made us come to a different facility 30minutes away and charged us $143/mo. We were stuck! Previous facility had no open spaces. About 4months later, sent a post card raising rate to $170/mo!!!! Finally we got a spot at previous facility & moved out of pioneer the next day! They are deceitful and incompetent ?? Our neighbors who were with original owners at $25/month, then $50, for 8 years ,also moved their trailer at the same time as us, to a facility 45 minutes away to get out from under this business. And this facility that I am discussing is only 3 driveways down our street! We waited 8 years for a spot to open up with Pioneer Valley Storage so we could have incredible access and cheap storage As you can see, we got mud, limited access, and ripped off! Do not use this business ?? ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
