This is a terribly run property. We had a storage unit for a few months in the basement at this location. Our storage unit filled with water from a leak through the ceiling. All of our things were covered in mold, damp and ruined. The property manager has never returned our calls regarding this issue and hasn't worked with the insurance company that insures property stored in the unit. Good luck if you rent here. We lost thousands of dollars of furniture. ... Read more

Zero stars. RENT HIKE: They raise your rent by $20 every other month. When I first started renting, it was $141. A year later it was $280. WATER AND MOLD PROBLEMS: I have a third floor inside unit which they charge extra for. I checked on my unit after a couple months of not seeing it to find standing water and mold growing. The water completely ruined a pottery barn dresser and a shelf. Mold was growing on the entire back wall of the unit and growing on anything touching. ***This was an inch of standing water. Not a little condensation or sweating*** See photos. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE: No one ever answers the phone, no one is ever in the office. When I finally got a hold of the property manager, he told me it’s not their fault. I promptly moved all my stuff out of this facility and to the edgewater public storage location, which is much newer and seems nicer so far. They must also have a rat problem because they kept shoving rat poison in my unit too. ... Read more

Raised my rent from $142 in 11/19 to finally $335 in 10/23. The last increase went from $247 in 9/23 to $335 in 10/23. Went to get stuff out of storage last week and my unit looks like this. (see pic) Left a message about it (because no one was in the office and no one answered the phone). Went back a few days later and it still looks like this. Also, the gate has been open the last 2 times so anyone can enter the facility. Zero stars. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Public Storage - 1904 West Street has to offer. These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Public Storage - 1904 West Street can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 75 to 200 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by Public Storage - 1904 West Street come at a variety of prices, starting from $155 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $371 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
