I would not recommend Prime Storage. When I went to move my belongings out after paying off my balance, I immediately noticed that several bags of shoes were missing, and my storage unit was visibly less full than when I left it. I estimate my loss to be around $3,500, including Christian Louboutin (“red bottom”) slides, Yeezy Slides, Jordan sneakers, Nike sneakers, 2–3 pairs of UGG platform sandals, and about 3 pairs of UGG boots.
I reported the issue to management, and they claimed they would investigate, but I never received any answers or a resolution. My unit had a red tag, which I understood meant customers could not access it until my balance was paid, so I have serious concerns about how my belongings went missing.
I trusted this facility to keep my property safe, but I was left without answers or compensation. Losing thousands of dollars’ worth of personal belongings has been devastating. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend storing valuable items here. ... Read more

I’ve been storing here since Prime Storage took over and I have been enjoying how pleasant the staff are and how attentive to detail they are. They are honest and actually works with customers and I appreciate that greatly. Also they just upgraded the elevator and it’s Huge, great for taking my things up and down! & the new lighting in the building is amazing! I would recommend this facility to anyone and even though the building is on the older side, any issues I’ve had, the managers in the office handled it swiftly. Good job you guys in the office! ... I had a very disappointing experience with this storage facility. What started as a place to safely store my belongings turned into a nightmare due to the poor condition and lack of maintenance of the unit.
Over time, water began leaking into the storage unit, causing significant water damage to my personal property. The moisture led to mold growth on many of my belongings, leaving items with a strong mildew odor and making some of them completely unusable. The condition inside the unit became unsafe and unsanitary.
The most alarming issue was that part of the roof/ceiling eventually collapsed into the storage unit. Debris fell onto my stored items, causing additional damage and exposing everything inside to even more water and weather-related issues. A storage facility should provide protection for customers’ belongings, but in my experience, it failed to do so.
I trusted this facility to keep my possessions secure and protected, yet I suffered extensive damage due to what appears to be ongoing maintenance and structural issues. Dealing with the aftermath, documenting damaged property, and pursuing an insurance claim has been stressful and time-consuming.
I would strongly encourage anyone considering this facility to thoroughly inspect the condition of the property and ask questions about water intrusion, roof maintenance, and mold prevention before renting a unit. Unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected when paying for storage services.

The worst storage unit ever. As company and as a crew . They make up the rules as they go along ,make up prices depending on occupancy , they’re overpriced, staff sucks , rip off , forces you to pay for things you don’t ask for , fees are ridiculous . Extremely predatory business and should be reported to BBB as much as possible for taking advantage of customers. All across the board trash and there’s rats . People work hard for their money, and they deserve to have an enjoyable, respectful experience when they spend it. That has always been my motto and it’s exactly what I experienced thanks to Jabriel at Prime Storage Newark on Mt Pleasant.
I’ve had a 10x10 unit here for a little over a year, and during that time I tried to resolve the same administrative issue four separate times, speaking with different people on different days. In addition to a newer issue. Having to repeatedly explain yourself is exhausting especially when life is already heavy.
After being a caregiver for someone with dementia, and while navigating several major life moments (because life really does be life-ing), the last thing I have the capacity for was more back-and-forthin’ or being tied to a phone. When I finally spoke with Jabriel by phone, everything changed.
He listened. He understood. And he handled what needed to be handled with professionalism, patience, and genuine care. No attitude. I didn’t feel dismissed, just old-fashioned respect and follow-through. You can tell his momma raised him right.
Anyways, I won’t share administrative details because I don’t want to put him on the spot, but I will say this clearly: if you need something handled properly, ask for Jabriel.
Sometimes God provides a ram in the bush right when you need one, and Jabriel was that for me. I’m genuinely grateful to be reminded that good people and good customer service still exist.
The facility itself is clean and well maintained. While there were elevator issues when I visited on the 23rd, the communication around that was honest and straightforward.
Whoever had the sense to hire this young man, kudos to you. And kudos to Jabriel, he helped me to reclaim my sanity today. ... Read more

I’m very disappointed with Prime Storage. I was told my unit was climate-controlled, but it was not. The facility had broken ceiling tiles and damaged light fixtures, making it difficult to see and creating safety concerns. Pros: For me the staff here is very helpful and informative and that alone is amazing! Also the prices for the units are unbeatable and easy to get.
Cons: On the other hand the push carts are HORRENDOUS(ALL CAPS)! And no central air on HOT OR COLD days is crazy so dress accordingly! No fault of the staff BTW!

Excellent experience with Prime Storage. Great prices which include first free month and low prices for rental rates for at least 3 months. The facility is clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. The have an elevator for access to upper units. The only issue would be that their ground floor units still require you to hoist your items onto the platform or up a small flight of stairs. Once your items are on the platform you can use their dolly's to bring all your items into your unit. Would recommend to others who are in need of storage. ... Read more

The employees here are amazinggggg. They will literally walk the building to greet you if they dont see you come in. They will help you get carts when none available. We even get personal elevator service if they are not helping other customers. my lock to my unit broke and they were supposed to charge me to remove it but NOPE. Best storage company I've ever used. The staff is helpful, and taught me how to use the old elevator, and have even run up the stairs to retrieve the elevator on a few occasions when it wasn't on the ground floor. I had no issues with the unit itself and no damage to my items stored (granted, I followed the rules and stored my items properly) but no damage whatsoever.
