Staff are nice, and are prompt to respond when/if needed. The only serious downfall of renting here is that you cannot access your unit after 5pm because they close the gates-although if you call ahead and need access extended after 5 for a short time, they will typically work with you and hold off on closing gate. It is also noteable that they close gates on random holiday closed dates of which are not always on the same day as actual holliday-However they do post notice on office door ahead of time, as well as verbally remind you of upcoming closed dates- if you happen to come into the office to pay- but if you dont then you may not have notice and potentially show up to find the gate closed. ... WARNING: CHECK YOUR UNIT FOR FLOOD DAMAGE! If you are a tenant in Murphy Mini Storage's "new" units, please go inspect your space and possessions. The rainy season has proven they are not built to legal code and are not secure. I would also not recommend renting from this facility due to their unlawful business practices. On January 16th I noticed water stains on a couple of boxes and the manager's response was that I should move my possessions within the unit. I took the next day to do so only to discover that my things were completely saturated and molding, though I've only been in the unit for less than three months. Five contractors and engineers, four of them hired by the owner, Lisa, inspected the space over the next two days and all of them said that it was faulty/ lack of moisture barrier along the back cinder block wall and a strip of 1 1/2 ft of flooring. The result was seepage that was so bad it was trickling and pooling, forming standing puddles within the space. I had damage to 15 banker boxes and 10 of them were destroyed. Over the days I spent accommodating the workers' inspections, I saw that two other units in the row also had streaming water. I'm afraid anyone renting from this facility should go and inspect their possessions immediately. Additionally, there is a whole new section that was poured by the same mason and it was already flooding inside and outside the unfinished units, too. When the mason inspected my unit he got very scared and stated that he followed the plans the owner gave him. Based on the miserly behavior of the owner, I believe him and have no doubt any new construction will have the same problems my unit has. Additionally, the job site has rats running amidst garbage and I saw a pile of human feces when I went to look at the flooded storm grate. I offered to allow repairs in the space, to move to a dry unit within the facilities, and one of the contractors even offered to help me move right then, but Lisa refused to make any accommodation, remedy, or compensation. Her response was that since I have my own insurance she has no responsibility to make things right, that I should "do me" and move on to a different facility. I spent days trying to help deal with their clear structural problem and her response was to refuse to even reimburse my rent. She has been nothing but rude and even refused to assist my insurance claim. Please steer clear of such an unethical and unlawful person, and please go check your things! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Murphy Mini Storage - 6510 Williams Hwy has to offer. These amenities include Onsite Manager, Security Camera and Gate. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Murphy Mini Storage - 6510 Williams Hwy can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 50 to 200 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by Murphy Mini Storage - 6510 Williams Hwy come at a variety of prices, starting from $75 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $150 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
