Every single month they charge my account the incorrect amount. You would think it would be a simple fix, but apparently not. Many times when they say they will fix it and refund the difference, they don't. Now they are not answering the phone or returning messages. Find some place else. They are not professional. ... Cindy, the owner, is super nice and flexible. Over the 5+ years we've been here, I have no problems working with her. The indoor storage and outdoor storage, however, leaves a bit to be desired. We had an indoor unit for a while. It's based in an old flag factory - which is super cool. But the elevators are old and seem like a safety hazard. Especially the outside freight elevator. If not done properly, the freight elevator can get locked, with no way to open it. My fear was my child would wonder in and he would be locked inside. Also if the building lost power, and your stuff was inside, there was no way for Cindy to open the elevator for you to retrieve your stuff. It was this incident that spurred me to move our indoor location. The outdoor location was where we parked our RV. The price was very reasonable and Space Mall was the only location in the area that could accommodate us. We loved parking in the first lot with the black top, but when we upgraded our RV to something slightly bigger, we were moved to the side gravel lot. And this is when the trouble began. This lot seems to be dual purposed and I'm not sure Cindy has full control over what happens here. We came back several times to find our spot was taken by either someone else or junk cars. Cindy always found us a spot but the fact it happened several times was frustrating, especially as we tended to come back when it was A) raining or B) after hours. With Space Mall's approval, we put a cone and a chain across our spot so people knew that the spot was not just an empty spot - someone was renting it. We came back several times to find those moved as well. I recently came back to my spot to find the person next to me ran over the concrete poll/chain and cone which were inside the lines of my spot. They didn't report this to the office and I had to find out by showing up. I'm glad my RV was not in the spot because they would have hit my vehicle. Would I rent here again? Maybe if it's my only option. It wouldn't be my first choice, unless they cleaned up the gravel lot. My son calls it the Junk Yard and every time we came there wanted to know why we were parking our RV in a junk yard. ... Read more

Nice affordable rates BUT after closing my account with this place, I was told I would receive my rent back for the month since it was done on the 5th. I've called 3x and was told they would "look into it and get back to me". That was 3 days ago and not a word since. So if you don't mind not getting your rent back, or even on a pro-rated basis like other storage places, then by all means, rent here. ... Read more

Update to my initial review 6/3/2022 - Thank you Cindy for reaching out and making things right. We were able to find a space that worked well for our RV and Cindy was very fast in turning the contract around. Appreciate your contacting us and helping to get us in. Here's my very strange experience with 422 Space Mall - I stopped in on April 8th 2022 to ask about renting a spot to store an RV. We walked out and selected a spot, gave my contact information, and they agreed to email a contract and we would settle everything from there over the phone as we we're leaving on a trip with the camper. The contract never came through so I messaged to validate the address - no response. Multiple phone messages - no response. Finally was able to contact them Monday 5/1 to which they apologized and said they were going to confirm the space and get back to me that morning - no response. Called back the next day - no response. Would have been nice to store our vehicle there though found a place just down the road with great customer service. I should have started there I would have saved a bunch of time. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.

To open your storage unit door, start by unlocking it, whether it uses a traditional padlock or a Bluetooth-enabled smart lock. Once unlocked, grab the bottom handle and lift or pull up the roll-up door until it’s fully open.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.
