Read some helpful reviews of Prime Storage (SC15) at 1260 East Butler Road, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

i rented a storage unit and called yesterday. no one answered so i go in person the next day and no one’s there. at this point i need to cancel it so i call customer service and they proceed to tell me they can’t cancel it and they’ll have to have them reach out to me the next day and that they’re closed on thursdays and sundays now even though on here and the door says they close at 6. which could be understandable but i also called the day prior which was a wednesday. it’s just aggravating because i was never sent the gate code. so even if i needed to get in i couldn’t. ... Staff here are exceptionally helpful and kind. I rented two units for 14 months and had no issues at all. Anytime I had questions, it was easy to reach a person, and I was able to get assistance right away. I highly recommend the Butler Rd location. ... Read more

The staff was excellent, especially the manager; she went out of her way numerous times to try and help. The problem is the property is old, with a tough parking lot. If you pull in to work in your unit and someone comes behind you, they either have to wait or you have to move. I had to move 3 times in 45 minutes. There is enough for two lanes, but they’ve decided to rent out spaces for boats, business trucks, etc., at the cost of customer convenience. The units themselves are old and very hard to open. You need strength to open some of them. I need to get to my units daily to access my items. After the ice storm, I was unable to get into my units for almost 3 days due to the huge amounts of ice 3-4 feet in front of all the doors. The ice only affected the left side of the building. When I asked the staff what the plan was to remove the ice so I could enter my units, they said they were only shipped 1 bag of salt and it was gone. So not only was the parking lot dangerous 2-3 days post-storm, the plan was to just wait for it to melt. I left a message of my concern for the safety of the parking but received no response. Finally, given the immense amount of storage units in the vicinity, you’d think with a property as inconvenient as this one is with ingress and egress issues and old doors that are heavy to open, they would keep the rates adjusted for the experience you're receiving. I was there less than 7 months, and the rates were increased twice. That’s ridiculous. The comment made was “we adjust rents based on local market.” That’s fine, but your facility has needs to be comparable, and this one is far from comparable to market. If it wasn’t for the staff I would have been gone after 30 days. There’s plenty of convenient storage business’s that are comparable or lower priced than the Prime Storage on Butler Road. ... I came in looking for a storage unit today and Raynell was super helpful and friendly. She walked me through everything, showed me the exact unit and had me in and out in 30 minutes. Their pricing is much more affordable than the big name storage units but still with security, gate access and a clean space. Be sure to check out Prime Storage on E. Butler Road for your storing needs! ... Read more

This is a place I have used several times over the years due to convenience. Fair prices, secure storage, and availability are things that I like here. What I don’t like is they keep charging me as if my insurance has lapsed and it never has. Overall I’m pleased with this location. ... Read more

I needed a storage unit quickly after moving out of my dorm, and Raynell made the whole process so easy. She helped me pick the right size, guided me through everything. My only complaint, besides the door lock being difficult to slide to put the lock in, is that you can't access your unit after 10pm. So if you're moving, on a time crunch, and need to be able to spend several hours after work running stuff up to your unit, you've only got until 10pm to do it and then you can't use your access code to get in after that. I'm not used to a time cut off on accessing outdoor storage units. But the prices are fair and the units are nice. Plus you get a discount for online booking. ... Read more

I first called Prime Storage on E. Butler Rd. a couple of months ago to inquire about getting a unit for my organization. I was gathering information but not yet ready to rent a unit. Over the following weeks, periodically, someone would call me to check in and see if I was still interested and whether I had any questions. This week, Autumn called me, and I was ready to move forward with the rental. She was incredibly helpful. She told me about a special deal in effect for new customers, but when I actually did the rental online the next day, not all parts of that new deal showed up in my account. Today she spent a long time helping me get this sorted out so that I could have the full benefit of the special. I appreciated it so much! Autumn and every other person I've talked to from Prime Storage has been extremely courteous and friendly and helpful. I have nothing but good things to say about the Customer Service from Prime Storage, and I look forward to working with them in the future. ... Read more

I rented a parking space for my camper. I started my rental in 2020 at a rate of ~$60 per month and by the time I moved out in September 2024 I was paying $146 per month. During the time my camper was there my spare tire was stolen (which they did nothing to help rectify) but the most recent issue was that someone backed into it damaging the fender and causing significant damage to the side that will cost me a boatload of money to have repaired (yes, I do have insurance). I informed the office and literally never received a call from anyone to even attempt to resolve this issue. When you're paying that much each month I would expect both a higher degree of customer response as well as security. These issues (along with others, like people parking in my spot and preventing me from being able to park it after a trip) were provided to the gentleman in the office when I went in to cancel. This same feedback was also provided in a survey...so, no, this is not the first time they are being made aware of my frustrations and reasons for leaving. ... Read more

Only positive to this location is David and how helpful and sweet he has been. I moved my belongings here in April and am now moving to another company overall due to the spider infestation in my unit. I came by to start moving a week ago and found mouse droppings everywhere that were not there when I moved in or the past few visits here. I now have to completely sterilize every single item I had stored here. Take my advice and go to somewhere indoors. Pelham self storage will be getting my money now. ... Read more

The people that work there no nothing. We asked about when late fees are applied, it went from 8 days to 6-7 days In person, and then when I called corporate to ask, I was told 4-5 days. It seems like a scam to get more money. The snaggle tooth man in there has no idea what he's talking about, but he sure does know how to raise his voice in disagreement. They go up on prices with no notification. When asked about it, I was told that it can change at any time without reason. Currently I'm paying 113 and started off at $63 plus a $12 insurance fee. There is nothing that states any information about any fees going up or late fees. When you call to get informed of anything, everyone has different information. I don't recommend. It you're going to be spending over 100, 1 recommend go to a more secure place that's temperature ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Prime Storage (SC15) - 1260 East Butler Road has to offer. These amenities include 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Online Payment and RV Storage. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Prime Storage (SC15) - 1260 East Butler Road can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 25 to 540 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by Prime Storage (SC15) - 1260 East Butler Road come at a variety of prices, starting from $42 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $250 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
