If you can avoid this place do… I have been over charged by this company for almost 4 years. Anytime I wasn’t able to pay rent on time I took the hit and paid the FORTY DOLLAR late fee. And I never complained about it (I’m late right Ill take the hit I get it ) Angela has been nothing but rude and not helpful. Most recently I moved into a smaller storage unit to save money (only because the sweet woman who works ant the front desk gave me the option to help me out) and then Angela told me that I should switch to autopay. (They said nothing about if the bank returns it they are going to charge you a $30 fee) well my bank returned it because I didn’t get paid until the next day. No big deal. Was going to pay it the next day July 12th. Which I did. Then all of sudden August 11th comes up and I have a charge of $168 trying to go through (here goes that $30 return fee that I wasn’t told about) we’ll why am I paying this in August when this happened in July. I was told because they could “add the fee on quick enough”before I made my payment. This place is NOT customer facing and does nothing to help its customers out. There’s always rent increases (anywhere from 20-30) and you would think being with a business for 4 years they would help their customers out and take a $30 fee off ESPECIALLY since the payment was made the day after the due date. I’ve asked to speak with the supervisor in the past and Angela called me back pretending to be the supervisor and when I called her out on it she hung up on me . And then most recently I asked to speak with the supervisor, over this fee. I’ve still heard nothing from him. This happened on Thursday. There is always something you can do to help your customers. The truth is they don’t want to… they don’t care. And you are deadlocked when it comes to getting in touch with them.(he has to call you) Your ONLY option is going through corporate and most of the time they take your information and pass it to the manager that does nothing. I will not continue support a business that does not support the people that help keep it from going out of business. I’ll take my money to a small business and someone who deserves it. Super unfortunate… think about how much money they’ve made off of me in 4years. And they couldn’t do something as simple as remove a $30 fee. I even offered to pay it at the end of the month. (Which is ridiculous) when you’re already paying $140 a month but whatever. That was met with a HARD NO from Angela. And ya… still haven’t heard from that manger…. I shouldn’t hold my breath because They got their money already. Oh ya I forgot to mention they put a lock on my unit, WITHOUT TELLING ME AND I WAS NOT LATE ON MY PAYMENT. The woman at the desk claims they sent me an email on July 19th “that wasn’t opened” saying they were putting a lock on the until until I paid this $30 fee. There was no email sent FYI I even showed her every email I’ve ever been sent in the last 4 years. (Yes I have saved them all) . But sure okay…. ... Read more

I've enjoyed walking into the Bastrop CubeSmart facility coming up on 5 years now. The cleanliness and professionalism of the staff are outstanding and a compliment to the CubeSmart organization. I can say that what has stood out to me the most is the smile and personal attention that Tabrina brings to my experiences. She always addresses me by my name, and listens exactly to what my needs are. Just a truly wonderful person to have on the CubeSmart team! ... Read more

Absolute worst experience. I was charged twice for my storage unit and was told by Angela that there was nothing she could do and that I need to call my back to have the second charge refunded (that’s annoying, but not a big deal). Called my back and they reversed the second charge. A couple days later, I get a notice that my account is overdue and I have no access to my storage unit. Corporate had reversed the original charge and then charged me a $20 fee! I was the one who was charged twice! Why would I be charged a fee? Worst customer service by Angela. Accused me of calling corporate, which I did not do - I had only called her and my bank. Very rude and unprofessional and could care less to get this issue resolved and the fact that I am moving and cannot access my storage unit. I will be taking this up with the district manager. Completely unacceptable. ... Read more

I would like. To say that the lady in charge the general manager. I believe went up and beyond a Call of Duty, she did a great job in helping me. She took the time to explain to me the contract and details of my account for my store unit. It was a great experience. The place is well kept, clean. ... Read more

CubeSmart is the best! Here's why. 1. Their prices are competitive. 2. The place is new, clean, and extremely secure. 3. They make it quick and easy to become a customer. 4. They are centrally located in Bastrop - right on 71 5. They continually inspect the premises. 6. They conveniently stock boxes and packing supplies. 7. My story: After moving hundreds of miles away, I stopped by to get a few things while in the area. However, I was in a hurry and didn't lock my unit correctly. Although the padlock itself was locked, the hasp wasn't correctly positioned. Fortunately, Angela and Rebecca discovered this immediately while conducting a check and notified me. They got everything locked up for me and spared me from having to drive nearly 500 miles. These folks are genuine professionals! Thank you Angela and Rebecca at CubeSmart! They didn't ask for them, but CubeSmart deserves all 5 stars and then some! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Public Storage - 510 State Hwy 71 has to offer. These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Public Storage - 510 State Hwy 71 can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 25 to 100 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by Public Storage - 510 State Hwy 71 come at a variety of prices, starting from $101 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $222 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
