*updated* Stephen deserves props, he was always friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. From 3/27 - 8/5, I rented a climate-controlled unit with autopay coming out on the 1st of every month—yet every single month, the autopay failed. That left me on the 2nd of every month, having to call to clear it up. Wrong billing addresses, discounts not applied, system glitches—I got swift fixes, but never the effortless automatic payments I signed up for. Then came the real horror. When my movers cleared the front row, things looked okay—until they dug deeper. Every inch revealed rodent droppings and urine. Soft items were drenched, ruined on the spot and had to be disposed of right then. Furniture was gnawed down to chew toys. My final bin—a plastic container of metal weight plates and dumbbells—was a nesting ground, built with materials never mine: insulation, ribbons, and string. When the container was emptied outside, a rat ran out and entered another unit. I reported it immediately. The office showed up, snapped photos, handed over claim forms. They casually mentioned a neighboring unit was storing taxidermy and never warned me. No ramped-up pest control. No heads-up so I could inspect or safeguard my things. Meanwhile, a fox was spotted outside the fence while we were moving—clear evidence the rodent problem was ongoing. Total damage...over $2,300. But the max claim I can make...$500. I’m giving two stars—for the staff’s empathy. That 2nd star depends on how far staff will go to stand up for its customers, not just check boxes for insurance. A simple personal apology is fine—but backing it with action, especially with the insurer, is what will make this right. 9/4 update: It’s been over 2 1/2 weeks since their insurance company requested a Manager Statement and they have yet to submit one. Their inability to do so has put a complete pause on my claim process. This is as I figured what would happen. Apologetic to my face, but then drag their feet to claim accountability when it will hit their pocket. The most my payout could be is $500. I paid more than that just renting from them for four months. Couldn’t be more disappointed in this company. ... Read more

I have been with U-Lock-It Storage in Cedar Creek for 3 years. Steven should not be allowed to answer the phone. Long story short, I called to make my payment and inform them that I tried to make my payment after hours the day before but the online system was not sending me an email when I tried to reset my password and I need help getting it reset. I never asked for them to remove a late fee but he immediately went in to some anxiety fit and engaged into defense mode as he proceeded to scold me about the fact I could have emailed them or called to make my payment on time and that I should know my payment is due on the first. He then went on to tell me that it must have been user error because no one else had problems and he's received a lot of payments over the left 48 hours and proceeded to laugh at me. When I asked why he was being this way to me, he stated it was because I raised my voice at him, which was completely untrue. Then after I told him I didn't care about a late payment and all I called in for was to make my payment and reset my password he went on and on again about how he can't reset my password and gave no answers as to how he would try to fix the issue. He kept going on about some other lady had issues 2 months ago and it was user error. I'm not concerned about anyone else, how are we going to fix this. After 15 minutes of this, I pretty much told him that he shouldn't be answering the phones because he had zero customer service skills and I didn't even know why he was so defensive and took the conversation down the rabbit hole he did, he then told me it was 99.8% my fault. Why? for calling to make my payment and ask for help to reset my password? lol. Everyone is usually so nice there but Steven absolutely had a defensive accountability issue. When I asked to speak to the manager he said he would ask Larry to call me. I asked if that might be within 48 hours and he said he would hope so but if not he would call me back. Seriously, dude... Taking your own complaint really doesn't solve the issue. When I asked how he would be helping to resolve my password issue.... He said he would hang up the phone.... He didn't say he would contact the department that could handle that or anything, and that's pretty much it lol We seriously need common sense restored here. #takestevensphoneprivelegesaway UPDATE: I am updating my review from a 1 to a 3, as Larry did call me back within 24 hours to talk to me about the situation and assist with the password reset. He restored some faith. I'd love to up it to a 5, but couldn't do that with a good conscience as long as Steven is in control of dealing with customers. Nobody that defensively unhinged should be working with the public. ... Read more

Very professional staff, always helpful. Plenty of time to access the storage locker, 7 days a week (6AM-9PM). Moving out due to changing residential situation, not dis-satisfaction. Always a good experience. Very good company to choose for storage, and less expensive than the competitiion. ... Read more

Don’t let my Dad’s grumpy and exhausted face fool you! This storage place was great for our family. We used it for about 3-4 months, it was secure, clean, the gentlemen who owns it is very friendly! We used the climate controlled unit, and it was great. Love that everything is monitored with cameras to make sure everything is safe. If we ever need to store anything again, we will definitely be using ULock-It Self Storage again! ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
