Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

psettingly, although this unit is supposed to be climate controlled, many of the things in our 5x5 storage unit on the ground floor at this location were ruined secondary to water accumulation and mold build up in our unit. We are preparing for a wedding and many of our wedding valuables and decorations are ruined. Also included was a family heirloom of fine china. Suitcases, travel bags, wall decor, etc. are all unusable now. Nothing we could have foreseen occurring as we were assured this would be climate controlled. Would not recommend. I will hope that the company will stand by their values and morals and remedy the situation appropriately. ... Read more

"Very Disappointing Experience" I rented a unit and quickly realized it was too small after just one day. I was told I could transfer to a larger unit, but I was still charged for both units, which made no sense—it didn’t feel like a true transfer. On top of that, I was forced to buy a second lock, even though my first one was only a day old. I was also charged for insurance on both units, despite only needing one. The whole process felt confusing and frustrating. I expected better customer service and more transparency. Would not recommend. I plan to speak to a manager today; if the situation is rectified I will update my review. ... Read more

I hate the run around the website, chat, and property managers. I have 4 days in a row and left many voicemails. Not a call or text back but yet if you are late on payment, they will call and leave endless voicemails. The storage is fine, the customer service sucks. ... Read more

I moved into this facility 6 months ago. No complaints about the facility. Then out of the blue they send me a 28% rate increase. I called immediately on the last day of June and she said call in July and ask for it to be lowered to what it originally was. So I called in July and they said they can't lower it until July 31st so call back then. Then I call back on July 31st and they say they can't lower it. Conveniently the new rate kicks in on Aug 1st. If you look online you can see Public Storage systematically screws their customers like this with unreasonable rate hikes after the first 6 months once someone has done the work of moving in. According to some reviews this is only the first of many increases, so it's best to stay away and find an alternate storage company. 2025 Update****** They did it again 6 months later. This time the increase was 22%. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.

To open your storage unit door, start by unlocking it, whether it uses a traditional padlock or a Bluetooth-enabled smart lock. Once unlocked, grab the bottom handle and lift or pull up the roll-up door until it’s fully open.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.

Security helps protect your belongings while they’re in storage and gives you peace of mind between visits. Many self storage facilities use a combination of features such as video surveillance, gated access, on-site management, and well-lit premises to help deter unauthorized access.

At Public Storage - 10410 East Northwest Hwy, available security amenities may include Security Camera, Onsite Manager, designed to help keep your items protected.

Yes, most standard vehicles can be stored in self storage units. A 10x20 unit typically provides enough space for a car, while outdoor or designated parking areas may be available for larger vehicles.

    • Hazardous, flammable, or toxic materials
    • Perishable food
    • Live plants or animals
