DO NOT STORE YOUR PROPERTY HERE!!! When my friend could no longer afford to pay rent (due to them raising her rent every 3-6 months), the contents of her unit were auctioned off. The unit sold at auction for $1600 OVER what she owed. According to Texas law, she is entitled to that $1600, and has 2 years to request it. She requested it immediately. First, the manager told her that a check had been mailed on a certain date, which turned out to be an outright LIE. Since then, my friend has contacted Public Storage via phone, email, chat, and US mail, with no resolution or even a single response of any kind, whatsoever. When she's not hung up on, she is given the runaround from "customer service" agents, who not only canNOT tell her where her money is, but try to pass her off with different numbers to call. One particularly incompetent agent even attempted to give her HER OWN number back to call!!! Next step is contacting San Antonio District Manager, Melissa Denzer, directly. If that doesn't work, she will go up the chain of command and call CEO Tom Boyle if necessary. **FUN FACT - Public Storage has had 2,462 complaints filed against them w/the Better Business Bureau in the last 3 years.** ... DO NOT RENT A SPOT HERE PLEASE I’ve been a loyal Public Storage customer for several years and have never had an issue — until now. I recently reserved another parking space at the 10652 N Interstate Highway 35, San Antonio, TX location, accessed the gate with the code I was given, and parked my vehicle. A few days later, I received a letter stating that my car had been towed and that I owe $1,080. I tried calling the property manager several times with no response. When I finally reached someone named Rachel, she was extremely rude and unhelpful. I asked why no one contacted me before towing my car, and she had no explanation. Another manager told me they would “take care of it,” but it’s now been over 10 days with no update or resolution. This has been one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve ever had with a storage company. I had a valid rental agreement, yet my car was towed without any notice or communication. It’s unacceptable how unprofessional and unresponsive this location’s management has been. Public Storage seriously needs to review the staff at this facility — they do not represent the company well. I’m extremely disappointed and still waiting for this issue to be resolved. ... Read more

Life gets hard And it seems like you see such a diverse set of situations when you go to the storage units I can only imagine the shoes she gets to see. the problems and the solutions. I don't live in Texas anymore and my sister, who is homeless, had my deceased mother's things in a unit at this location. Long story short, after 1 month of non payment, they auctioned my sisters unit, yesterday. I found today and my only issue is that my mother's cremated remains are/were in that storage! I've tried calling repeatedly, get placed on eternal hold, pushed to a voice mail, and after leaving numerous detailed messages, I am given the run-around with NO RETURN CALL. Unfortunately, they don't seem to care. I understand they are all about the money they can obtain from an auction, but someone's cremated remains??? They can't even get my mother back for me? Not a "friendly- family oriented" establishment. At this point they get ONE star because that is the ONLY way someone can leave a review. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
