Public Storage in Sherman broke the lock on the storage before I spoke to anyone. The contents of the unit were gone through and items were missing. An antique chair. We were given an eviction and rather than deal with these people again, we got as many things out as possible. We were accused of having chemicals and other contraband in unit and it was not true. They need to learn how to deal with their customers rather than make judgements without getting to know their customers. We paid our storage and still they were never satisfied. If I could give them a -10 rating I would. If you are considering them, please make sure you're appearance and manners are in place or they will take advantage of you. ... Read more

All set up online. They had a lock waiting for me. It's nice to see cameras and security features. Be aware of the insurance added on and if you don't want it, you have to call or go in person to cancel it. ... Read more

This place was good. Now it's trash. Mandy's was amazing. I've been charged 169,185, and now 225, with less than a year. For a storage unit I've had for years. I get prices go up but they don't inform you when or how much. Just it's new bill statement with a new number. Hope we can sue them i see other have the same problem. We have bank statements and nothing formally letting us know about price changes upfront or set every 3 months or such. There is not such pattern with them. ... Read more

**EDIT 10/28/24 -- This place hires bots to leave good reviews. lol, they went from like 3 stars to a 4.6 in a month. Public storage will NOT answer your calls at the facility. They make you leave a message for the manager to call you back and you have no idea when you will get a call back and you have to keep calling over and over and leaving messages. This storage facility keeps changing ownership. Has had 3 different owners since I have been with them for about 4 or 5 years. Public Storage just took over (May 1st) and even though I had NO CLUE this happened, and my rental agreement payments aren't due until the 15th of every month, they are sending me the most rude threatening and most unprofessional texts, emails and calls. DO NOT RENT HERE!!!!! They are VERY unprofessional. They have informed me that they have changed the codes to the gates and that I have to make an appointment to meet someone at the office to get a code. I live in another city 3 hours away. This whole situation is horrible and bonkers and freaking crazy how much I pay every month and can't even access my unit if I needed to at the moment. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
