Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage at 6832 South State Street, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

We are extremely disappointed with how our storage situation has been handled. While we were living abroad, we were informed that our storage unit had been broken into. Because we were out of the country, the facility placed their own lock on the unit to secure it, which we appreciated at the time. However, nearly three months later, we are now receiving emails stating that our unit is “not secure.” This is both confusing and concerning. We trusted the facility to properly secure our belongings after the break-in, especially since we were not physically present to address the issue ourselves. It has also been almost impossible to connect with anyone by phone. We have left four voicemails and have not received a single return call. When we do reach customer service, they are unable to assist with anything beyond taking a message for the property manager. There appears to be no direct way to resolve urgent issues. The lack of communication, follow-through, and accountability has made an already stressful situation significantly worse. We expected better oversight, clearer updates, and responsive customer service—particularly under these circumstances. ... Read more

Absolutely the worst customer service/ service in the history of any business I've ever delt with in my life. My move out date was on the 31st of the month, when I arrived thst night to grab my belongings a lock was place (by public storage) on my unit. I called multiple times that night and the next day, no answer. 5 days later I get a call back stating that I'll get a code later that day to get into my unit. No call back, I call them no answer, call again no answer, left multiple voicemails, no response. THEN 10 days into the next month I get a email from them saying my account is overdue! My account/ credit card get charged! I dispute it with my credit card and they refund me my money. I call again, leave more voicemails, no answer. Now it's the 15th of the month, I call in the morning again and leave a voicemail. FINALLY someone calls me back BUT ITS NOT EVEN REGARDING THE LOCK ON MY DOOR! IT WAS ABOUT THE LATE PAYMENT! But finally I was able to communicate with someone and get this stupid lock off my unit that should've never been there in the first place! 15 days it took for them to resolve this issue! ... They sent us an email April 2nd saying our unit was having a lien put on it due to non payment, called 3 hours later and paid the 220$ and have all receipts dates and times from p o s only to find out yesterday they illegally sold our unit and customer service keeps fumbling what to say, set up an appointment to meet the property manager yesterday for today at 9.30, waited till 10:15 and still no show, called customer service again and was given no explanation for the no show then was also told I would get a call back tomorrow, we've already contacted an attorney and have a solid case, filing a police report in the morning if this is not resolved by 9am. This is a terrible run business and I would absolutely stay away. ... Read more

GOOGLE DO NOT TAKE THIS REVIEW DOWN AS IT IS WRITTEN BY A REAL CUSTOMER AND IF PUBLIC STORAGE IS HAVING IT SCRUBBED ( attempting to remove legitimate reviews through illegitimate means goes against Google's policies and potentially against the law). SUMMARY: 1) *DO NOT RENT*, as all of their garage door will have problems, there is no property manager on this site, only a kiosk. Your problems will NOT get fixed. 2) Your *rental rate will increase by almost 40% every 6 months.* 3) The reviews on other websites are given by individuals are created or paid for specifically. Don’t waste your time reading them. *GO TO GOOGLE REVIEWS.* 4) *Public Storage will scrub bad reviews* easiest to just no rent from them. I don’t have time to put mine out everytime they scrub. BACKGROUND: This is an unpaid, unbiased, up-to-date Public Storage (PS) Midvale sites review. I have my name and picture on the review. PS has gone or is going to a kiosk at their sites; no individual is ever on site. DOUG lives at one of the kiosk sites, but doesn't work at the site - what! Their storage prices from 2019-2024 have increased 313.43%. They increase you by 32% every 6 months. I have NEVER been notified of an upcoming increase, a gate hour change, or a change to the kiosk system. For over a year, I have had a 10x15 gate that won't shut or open, slick lock doesn't work, etc. I wnt the first week of May to interview customers of PS at the State Street site on Midvale and they have all have garage door opening, closing and locking problems. These individuals spoke to me on camera. ... Read more

The facility is nice and usually clean. They do not plow snow though, it’s up to the customer to pack it down when they drive in. I’ve also had a 24% rate increase after 6 months and now an 18% rate increase after another 10 months. I find that pricing way too much for an orange door. Also, they close without notice. They have emails and phone numbers for customer, they should email/call and let customers know. I don’t think I’d recommend this place. Today, I needed to get into my unit early, at 6:30am, I arrived to this sign and gate. They didn’t call/email/text to notify customers. This is how they operate at this location. Do not rent here! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Public Storage - 6832 South State Street has to offer. These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Public Storage - 6832 South State Street can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 25 to 300 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by Public Storage - 6832 South State Street come at a variety of prices, starting from $57 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $248 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
