Had a very great and easy experience. Alex set up the reservation and I went to the location and was greeted by a lovely lady named Shy. She was courteous, professional and made the process simple and easy. Absolutely a breeze. Thanks for making simple and easy. Carlton ... Read more

I started with a promotional monthly rate of $29, which then went up to $55. Then they jacked it up to $72. Usually, I'm very much a "things cost what they cost" kind of guy, so if this went up a few bucks because of inflation, so be it. But this was so obviously a bait-and-switch that it's very annoying. The "standard price" is $36 a month, according to the Public Storage web site (see the top listing in the attached screenshot). If I wanted to upgrade to a ground-floor unit (bottom listing), the "standard price" is $51 a month. So why is my next bill $72? I have no problem with anything other than these shady pricing practices. The facility itself is fine, and I have never had a problem with it. It's hard to cross Route 1 when you're going southbound, but I knew the location when I rented there. ... Read more

    - don't use this place! $1000s ruined - I moved away and had lots of stuff I had to keep in the area for about a year. After going to grab all my stuff out of the unit, almost everything had mold on it.. I had to throw away so much stuff including 2 coats which were $800 each, computer monitor, Dolly's, suits, cloth wagon, and much more. Insurance didn't cover it. After a few weeks I was offered $250 but I had to pay $150 as a deductible which I didn't do cause hats dumb . So much stuff was ruined from using this place don't pay for a unit here . The same day 2 others were moving out and said they had it happen as well . - staff and management suck. - place is dirty and the inside units have mold. - no onsite trash for small stuff to throw away. - leaving or even coming here is so inconvenient and hard due to traffic. - lots of the units are uneven and raised up a foot or so. If you're looking to store heavy items good luck. - just stay away from this location. ... Read more

This site is one of the cheapest in the area, and it seems like they do this by offering poor customer service and slow response times. I was attempting to see units they showed as available and when I got there during their office hours that are displayed no one was there. When I called to see if they were available to let me see the unit I was told they would get in touch with the manager, after waiting on hold for 20 minutes I was told the site is by appointment only and they don't have staff on-site at all. Very frustrating to deal with and easier to just go to one of the storage places across the street. ... Read more

This facility is not well maintained. Northern Virginia received some snow in early January and the gate has been left open and the roads as well as walkways to doorways have been left icy covered in snow. The humidity and moisture inside the units is high and not ideal for storage. The agents working here are very friendly and helpful but this location and the Public Storage business model is severely flawed. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
