Read some helpful reviews of Midgard Self Storage, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Very disappointed with Midgard. If you want a storage unit that is going to raise its rent 3 times in one year, look no further. They also make it incredibly difficult to end your lease with them, and have endless steps for you to do, and when you follow them they say you didn’t do them all, so you get charged for a whole month of rent even though your units have been empty for 5 weeks. I did what I was told to do in the text messages, I gave the 30 day notice, I returned the red locks that the message said to do, I sent in pictures to the link from the text message as well. Nobody at the office could give me any answers, and I was met with attitude from an employee claiming I didn’t follow directions. It took almost a week for “upper management” to get back to me about getting charged an extra month for no reason, claiming they will not refund me for October when my units have been empty since the end of August. 0/10 do not recommend. ... Have you ever felt like you weren't worth it? That feeling like you're a burden? That's how I felt walking into Midgard today. (Spoiler: I went with Storage Sense around the corner) Funny thing was that it wasn't anyone in particular that made me feel that way. It was the very fact that I wasn't greeted. I was presented with the opportunity to speak with someone on a video feed! Halfway through my conversation with the video feed, it cut out! The matinence gentleman there helped me figure out how to reset the feed. I reset it, joked a little bit with the person on the feed, before it cut out again. The gentleman was the best part of my experience because he was THERE. He showed me a unit. It gave me an idea of how much space 10'x10' actually looks like, and I tried to start the video feed again to see if maybe, just maybe, I could make something work. The feed wasn't even restarting. This business model is ridiculous. The most disappointing thing is seeing the photos on this Google summary make it seem like they have a desk and someone sitting there? NOPE! You're on your own! Figure it out yourself! No one is here to answer your questions! I hate this so much, I cannot tell you. You wanna keep going down this road? Be my guest. I'm done. ... Read more

Initially, when this facility operated as Secure Storage, the experience was highly satisfactory. However, under new ownership, the management has implemented excessive security measures that significantly inconvenience tenants. Additional locks were placed on my storage unit without prior notice, and accessing my belongings now requires navigating multiple unnecessary steps. Despite being current on all payments, I was required to download an additional application and provide proof of ownership, as the company failed to update their internal systems. Resolving these issues necessitated a discussion with a virtual manager, further complicating the process. It’s worth noting that many positive reviews predate the ownership change, reflecting a different operational standard. I strongly advise prospective customers to research thoroughly. If you prefer unrestricted access to your unit without burdensome requirements, such as app downloads and excessive verification, I recommend exploring alternative storage options. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
