Ken was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. Moving and coordinating storage can be stressful, but he made everything easy by taking the time to answer my questions, explain my options, and make sure I found the right unit for my needs. He was knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely kind. Excellent customer service from start to finish. Thank you, Ken, for making the experience so seamless! ... Read more

People like Ken here at this particular Storage Unit go the extra mile. The greeting and the assistance with the door holding while you struggle with larger than expected dolly loads, to holding elevators and making sure you get your belongings on the conveyor with ease , has really been a huge help and blessing. Thanks Ken! ... Read more

I had a great experience at Public Storage thanks to Ken. He greeted me warmly, handled everything professionally, and even stayed fifteen minutes past closing on his own time to help us move our equipment. No rush, no frustration—just pure patience and good vibes. Absolutely top-notch service. Ken definitely deserves a raise for that level of commitment. ... Read more

I got what I needed at the Public Storage on Alaskan Way. Ken at the front desk was easy to talk to and very good at explaining things and helping me figure out which unit to rent. The facility seems solid so far—secure and clean as I would hope. I do wish the pricing were more transparent on the website—some customers like me just want to know what they're going to pay over time, rather than to receive "move in bonuses." ... Read more

To anyone thinking about using a storage facility managed by Public storage PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS CAREFULLY BEFORE! I was told by customer service that prices would not increase more than 8% a year; but after 4 months my storage unit went up in price by 54 dollars (a 33% increase) without there really being a reason for that. I would not go with them anymore at all. On top of the price hike, the floor I had my unit on smelled of dead mice or rats. It was that cheesy really bad smell that was in there for the 6 months I rented; it never went away. The opening times are inconvenient for someone who works all day. In short: look for a better and serious company; the only nice thing I can say is that the toilet was clean and that the guys working there were nice overall. ... Read more

Ok I am re-editing this to give a shout out to the great customer support by Ken. Ken goes above and beyond to make sure that this location is safe, secure, and clean, he really does a great job. Also changing to a 5 star because of the great customer service support from Ryan the manager before when I first moved in. I did have major issues accessing the property yesterday but I feel that Ryan stepped up and made things right with me and now I feel like I was a bit harsh. That is what excellent customer service can do, just completely flip the situation from 1 star to 5 stars. Great job Ryan. ???????????? ... Read more

The 5 stars are for Blair. I would like to thank Blair for the excellent service. He has been very helpful in securing the unit I wanted. In the meantime I have read other reviews. I hope that Public Storage honors what I have been told from customer service that costs would not increase more than 8% in a year. Hopefully that is true. I will rate public storage in general after the first year. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.

Yes, most standard vehicles can be stored in self storage units. A 10x20 unit typically provides enough space for a car, while outdoor or designated parking areas may be available for larger vehicles.
