What customers are saying

4.1/5 - 62 Reviews

Read some helpful reviews of On-Guard Mini-Storage at 920 East Mead Avenue, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

King Ken and faithful disciple Michael terminated the manager of 6 years, citing the company is going a different direction. which is fine. However he gave 72 hours for her and her young special needs daughter- who has a trach, has Down's syndrome and dependent on a ventilator- to be moved out of the attached apartment. If not out, it would be $100 per day with a maximum of 9 days or she would be trespassed. When I came to help her move out, the furniture in the office that was the final item to be picked up and was reportedly going to be ready for pickup by the retained employees- was in fact not ready. Wires were still running through the desks and the cabinets couldn't be removed without moving the office supplies. The very important office assistant couldn't move the stuff herself as it's "not her job". She had no answers for who was responsible for that job. As I had interrupted her watching Netflix, and her supervisor was sitting in his mini cooper in front of the office couldnt be bothered to help- I moved the keyboard and unplugged the phone because it had to be to move the cabinet. The very important, zero experience in effectively communicating or managing conflict, office assistant, called the police to trespass me, citing that I made a mess on the desk. And this is coming from the office that has cardboard and duct tape covering windows. It's a private business and they can certainly do that. I don't care about being trespassed, it just means I cannot return. It was obviously a large ploy to have anyone helping the former manager move out be trespassed. Im not a victim and I owe them nothing so I didn't try to be friends with Roberta or pretend that it's not inconvenient that they said they'd have the cabinets ready in 72 hours, then failed to remove them from the desks and required us to climb on the desk to unplug the wires running through the cabinets. If that's enough to get me trespassed, fine. I'm the one with a truck and trailer so i cannot help with the remaining items that were going to be taken to the dump. They can do that I guess. But I most certainly wouldn't return as a customer because as we moved the former manager out of her storage unit, there was so many mice! Alive and dead and boxes were shredded. No food in the unit, just a crazy infestation for the facility. It was honestly gross and the people next door to her unit said that they have been storing for 10 years and they frequently have cockroaches and mice. Yikes. Overall, I only feel obligated to share my experience because of the overall treatment of the management company- who I also worked for in Richland for 7 years, until I left because the company doesn't provide benefits to their employees- no 401k, no health, no anything. Low pay but a cheap place to live that is only perpetuating a cycle of a dependent employee. The owners themselves are not involved, just the management company Storage Partners. It's not a big deal to let an employee go- I understand and honestly am not upset or feel angry at that. It's the lack of humanity with the benefits/low pay/ no investment at all into employees that is overwhelmingly disgusting. This manager was a single mom and doesn't have family in Yakima. It was cruel to give no notice to her for her income, housing and because she has to relocate completely- to her daughter's school and established nursing. I hope they have the days they deserve. ... Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that On-Guard Mini-Storage - 920 East Mead Avenue has to offer. These amenities include Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by On-Guard Mini-Storage - 920 East Mead Avenue can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 25 to 480 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by On-Guard Mini-Storage - 920 East Mead Avenue come at a variety of prices, starting from $49 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $209 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
