Tavio is genuinely the perfect person for the job. I came in completely stressed and unsure of how the whole process worked, but he went above and beyond to help me through everything. He even stayed past his working hours so I could get my card and pay for the unit, when he easily could’ve just told me to come back tomorrow.
Even after the payment was done, he still helped me move and store everything and even held the staircase for me the entire time. None of that was required, but he still did it with kindness and patience.

Recently I visited SecureSpace Self Storage on Shattuck in Berkeley to research units because I am in the market to move from another storage space.
I met Tavio at the front desk, and told him the approximate size I was looking for. He was very helpful in walking me through several currently open units so that I could compare sizes and prices, and get a sense of the building as a whole.
Tavio was attentive, cheerful, and patient (I asked a lot of questions!) He wrote down the specifics and costs for me to take home and consider. He also gave me good advice about ideal times during the year to rent a unit; June was one of those times, so I am keeping that in mind.
Tavio has a warm, welcoming persona which creates a positive impression for future potential renters such as myself.

I had a really positive experience at this storage facility. From the moment I walked in, the customer service was great. Everything was explained clearly, and the whole process was simple and stress-free.

Such unprofessional service. Was told Access hours were until 10 pm. So when I show up at 8 pm with no where to store my belongings No Access! I waited over 36 hours to speak with the manager. In which I had to call again (4x). I was told we already put your refund into the system, wasn't sure why I was calling. No communication or apology to me was necessary!! Thanks for that!!!!!
BTW....some automated response is absolutely not acceptable! For future reference this tells and makes The Customer feel not listened to or heard!! Add more injury to the insult!! I will not bother myself to communicate via email after the fact.

I rented a storage unit on May 14, and during sign-up, I was clearly told by your representative that I would be billed monthly on the same date the 14th. I relied on this information when planning my payments. However, in early June, when I contacted your team to close out my unit, I was told that billing is done on the 1st of each month something that was never communicated to me when I signed up.
I was then told by one employee that I could pay only for the days I used the unit in June, but when I went in person, I was told this was incorrect. Staff admitted that I had been given false information by your team, yet I was still told I would have to pay the full $142 charge an amount higher than my original $134 payment. I was later informed that the higher charge was because I hadn’t been charged for insurance in the first month, which again was your company’s mistake, not mine.
To make matters worse, I attempted to resolve this issue by contacting management, but was met with rude and dismissive treatment. I was not given a call back after several requests and had to keep calling repeatedly just to get any response. Rather than being helped, I was threatened with collections and told that there was “nothing that could be done” even though the issue clearly stemmed from misinformation given to me by your own staff.
This entire experience has been deeply frustrating and unfair. I was misinformed, ignored, and treated poorly and now I’m being charged extra due to errors made by your team. I am requesting that this charge be removed and that my account be closed with no penalty. I should not be held financially responsible for a situation that was caused entirely by your company’s lack of communication and accountability. ... Read more

The four stars are for the front desk crew only, if I could give the place 5 stars I would, but ultimately management made my experience not good. If I could give this facility 1 Star without having an effect on the awesome guys at the front and only have it reflect the management and how the company is running things, I would be doing that.
The guys at the front desk are super helpful and did everything they could to help even if the company and management itself has really difficult to navigate issues and doesn’t give them a lot of power to help.
The management, company and customer service put a disabled person in a really difficult situation and potentially dangerous situation due to not training their call center staff on their facility layouts and accessibility.
