I’m hanging out in the office of my storage facility chatting with John (The Boss Man), Isaac, and Morgan. When I moved to the area I needed space for things that wouldn’t fit in my new place. Beyond an immaculate place, I love coming here to chat with them… John always makes me laugh. You should meet him too! But I have dibs. ?? Seriously though, this is the nicest storage facility I’ve ever used. The only thing I wish they had is paper towels in the bathrooms instead of a hand dryer. It’s useful for when I use public transportation since it’s right across the BART station, and also has lots of free parking spots for cars too. I have a music business out of my home and have had good experiences over the years with several storage places in the east bay. Recently however my storage needs grew and I decided to consolidate and get a larger space at Security Public Storage in El Cerrito.
I started off with a 10 x 15 which filled up pretty fast so I added a second space but soon found I could consolidate back into one space. Then recently my storage needs expanded again so now I have 2 units a 10x15 and a 10x10 close by.
I’ve had nothing but good experiences at SPS. It’s been six months now and I go there a lot. The lighting is great, the security is state of the art, the place is totally clean.
The staff is great particularly Kimberly and Corina, the 2 lovely people at the front desk who help everyone, and make people feel at home. Together as a team they’ve guided me through the process of consolidating and switching units, plus they’ve made any paperwork seem like a breeze.
It easily deserves 5 stars. I get a good feeling every time I go there.

Kimberly is great. She helped us correct a bad situation where our electronic lock stopped working and our exterior unit would no longer lock! She was very caring and gave us the opportunity to move the same day into either an indoor unit or a smaller exterior unit if our items would fit. We made the smaller one work and all is well!
However, the lack of having the ability to put a normal lock on our unit was crazy. And crazier? When the lock broke, the staff assured us they would get the unit locked via an electronic override “lockdown” and not to worry. A few days later, we called back just to find that the staff was unable to lock our unit and left it unlocked for all this time, without telling us ! We only found out because we asked the specific staff member on the phone to go check personally, they obliged and found it unlocked….for over a week, all our items were unlocked and we weren’t told.
Just grateful to have it resolved now, and Kimberly made it up for it with a discount, so we are satisfied customers. But the inaccurate communication, and lack of security for that week was simply not okay. ... Read more

Although the facility is quite ??, clean, coded, with high end monitoring (surveillance) systems, I still wanted to address my concern re the open ceilings of each units on the second floor, covered only by fence wires (including my own unit).
