FREQUENT FLOODS, MY BELONGINGS WERE FLOODED, AND THEY RENTED ME AN UNCLEANED UNIT! I rented a unit at this location. Recently they had two floods. When the first flood occurred in November 2025, they notified me a month later! In the meantime, my personal belongings were sitting for a few weeks on the wet floor and mold (that developed), and it caused damage to my personal belongings! The company was NEGLIGENT. In addition to it, they rented me a dirty/dusty unit on day one. There was a powder substance all over the unit. First, I believed that it was some sort of substance to prevent bugs. Later, I became concerned about my health and all my belongings were messed up. When I asked an employee what the powder was, she promptly responded not to worry about it as it was cement that the previous customer stored in the unit. The company knowingly rented me an uncleaned unit!!! Their employee didn’t offer me any solution, didn’t try to fix it and ignored the problem. After the first flood I filed a complaint at their front desk. They forwarded it to the regional manager. I was told that she was going to call me the next day and that an employee would call me regarding the flooded unit. Nonetheless, nobody ever contacted me. I sent an email to the regional manager, and I reported the flood, sent photos and reported the issue with the cement. Finally, she made the effort to call me. Her excuse was that they never run business this way. She told me that she refunded me for November due the flood. She was supposed to call me again within 48 hours with a solution. As a matter of fact, after a few business days I hadn’t received any refund. She didn’t call back. I reminded myself. Finally, she called to tell me that there was NO REFUND. Her explanation was that the DISTRICT MANAGER STOPPED THE REFUND AND REJECTED IT. What a MALPRACTICE! They only prompted me to file an insurance claim. When I rented the unit, they sold me insurance to cover any potential damages. The tricky part is that the insurance requires receipts and dates of purchases of your belongings. Well, as we know, ink on the receipts fades out after a while. Who keeps tracking of the dates of purchases of dozens/hundreds of items. It seems to be complicated on purpose. Believe it or not, but over Christmas, my unit was flooded again! In addition to it, other units, hallways and walls were flooded too. After the second flood I filed another complaint, but it was totally ignored by the Public Storage regional and district managers, and nobody ever contacted me! This property is very poorly managed. They only collect your money, and they don’t care about their customers at all! As a summary, I can tell you that my personal belongings and my body/health had been exposed to MOLD in this location. It caused me major inconvenience and problems. I closed my account at the storage place. The sad fact is that Public Storage totally ignored my complaints. I’ve never heard back from them with a resolution of any of my two complaints. The Public Health Department and The City of Los Angeles should inspect this Public Storage location and take any steps to protect public health. Renting a unit at this location was a nightmare and my worst customer experience ever!!! Please, don’t get fooled by the positive reviews on here which tells you how clean the place is. This Public Storage location had lots of complaints in the fall, and I also spoke with some customers who rented a unit there. They weren’t excited about this location. Set attached photos of flood and mold in my unit, and photos of flood in the hallway & flooded wall. Look at the dirty wall! It's just so gross... ... Read more

Avoid renting from this Public Storage location at all costs. I went there today to check on my unit and discovered it completely emptied—I was robbed. Not a single call, email, or message from them to inform me or explain what happened. What’s the point of having cameras if they aren’t being monitored or used to protect customers? The truth is, this place is a disaster, and the workers are shady, likely involved in inside theft jobs. Whether they’re stealing themselves or helping others do it, it’s clear they cannot be trusted. Here’s how they operate: they use or hand out a master key to access units, so if you use their locks, you’re basically handing over your belongings to thieves. I strongly advise against using their locks—buy your own high-security lock and secure your unit yourself, but honestly, even that might not save you here. They openly admitted that this location doesn’t have a manager, which explains everything. No accountability, no oversight, and staff members who clearly give away access codes and keys while showing thieves which units to target. This place is a breeding ground for theft, and they don’t care about their customers or their property. Your belongings are not safe here. The staff is unprofessional, negligent, and probably complicit. There’s no proper security in place, and even if they have cameras, they’re clearly not using them to catch or prevent theft. It’s a complete scam and a disgrace to the Public Storage brand. I’m convinced the employees are running an organized operation to steal from customers. They’re not protecting your property; they’re setting you up to lose it. Save yourself the stress, frustration, and financial loss—take your business elsewhere. This place is nothing but a theft ring disguised as a storage facility, and I will make it my mission to warn as many people as possible about their shady practices. This location should be shut down for good. ... Read more

beware, beware, beware, valuables stolen, manager walked out on me immediately in the early afternoon, telling me there's no one here that can help me, no assistance in securing the unit. i moved out the next day to find more items missing. update: i first discovered items were missing on the 24th, i moved out on the 25th of october. i've left three messages since then requesting assistance, not one returned call until i left this review on google. oh now you want to help??!!!???!!!! easy to see where their priorities are. unbelievable!!!!!! you need a code to get in the facility, you need to code to get to your floor my, theres only three floors in the whole building!!!!!!! They saw me coming and going with my property (guitars, amps, equipment, etc) on almost a daily basis. i've had the one guitar for 23 years and played it almost every day. Everyone i've asked said it sounds like an inside job. i'll be looking into filing a rico conspiracy complaint with the state attorney general as well as a lawsuits against the company and employees. ... Horrible experience with this Public Storage location. They never pick up or return calls after you leave dozens of voicemails. My storage unit is on the second floor and the only elevator to it has been out of service for months. I was given a phone number of the district manager, Michael Moldy, which never picked up or returned calls either after I left voicemails. To me, that’s ridiculous customer service, years ago I used to have units at 3636 Beverly Blvd & 11200 W Pico Blvd and never had any type of issues. Today I vacated the place and the fact that everything had to go through stairs ended up costing me a lot more, I believe that Public Storage is responsible for the extra fees as the elevator should have been fixed a long time ago. The amount of money these people make off people storing more than compensates a repair ... Read more

These amenities include Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Public Storage - 6202 Willoughby Avenue can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 25 to 100 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by Public Storage - 6202 Willoughby Avenue come at a variety of prices, starting from $177 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $428 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
