Read some helpful reviews of Sonoma RV Storage, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

The great thing about this place is location, as I live close by. This place is a higher price for my size camper 22.2 ft, than others in Sonoma County, but to be expected here. There was some flooding, that I was not aware of when renting, or alerted to while happening. It came up about 18 inches on a few occasions, covering the axle and rusting the breaks a bit. So keep in mind some areas are dryer than others if this is a concern for you. Overall it worked well for 3+ years, due to convenience. The road is better inside the storage area, finally, but in and out, off of Napa Rd, is not always smooth or maintained. ... Read more

Rude customer service! I had my trailer parked there for almost two years. No issues - they are cheaper than a lot of other storage facilities that's why I parked my trailer there despite living in Oakland at the time. Then just in the past month I used them to park my old car there for a few weeks and told them my plan. They prorated the car the first month but refused to prorate the month of June when it was removed on June 10th. So I let that go and was charged for the entire month of June. Just today (July 1st) I've been charged fully for another month! Total oversight on their part when I told them the car had been moved out early June. I called today and spoke to a man who says he couldn't do anything about giving me a refund and refused to accommodate my request to possibly not charge me anything for June as I told them the car was only going to be there for a few weeks. He never apologized for the oversight of my move out email, and in charging me erroneously. I then asked him for the person's name and contact info who could help facilitate my request since he refused (they have a 30 day notice in general) to refund my money in full as I should not have been charged $109! He said he wouldn't give the info of the owner because I was being rude! Wow! I'm sure he would not have said that to a male customer. They are at fault and blaming me! Awful. ... Read more

I am sitting here now waiting for a call back from them because suddenly my code does not work. No one usually answers the phone so it's a bit frustrating. Other than that, it is an out in the open storage place that seems secure. I've had no issues in the 10 months I have been here. The internet says the gate access is till 9:00 p.m. but it's actually only till 8:00 p.m. but they have not corrected it. ... Read more

Alejandro is so unprofessional. He insulted me numerous times. It was the worse customer service I have ever received. And I've been storing my rv there for years too. I cant get ahold of the owner and the voice message box is always full. I would like the owner to contact me to discuss this unprofessional situation. Alejandro also stalked us the whole time we were at my trailer as well. Im just shocked how badly this man is behaved. ... Read more

We have been renting with Sonoma Storage since 2019. The security and welcoming attendance given to us, by the owners, is so reassuring. We feel very safe and well taken care of. We can always get someone on the phone if we need anything; they are alway so friendly and helpful. ... Read more

This is the most unprofessional and manipulative business I have ever interacted with. I caution anyone considering storing anything at this location. I have a fifth wheel that I stored at Sonoma RV storage. I dropped it off at the exact location on the lot that I was told. I told them that it would be stored for a longer period of time. A few months later when I was out of the country, I got a call demanding that I move my RV asap, as it is blocking in a shipping container. When I told them that I was out of the country, they proceeded to call a locksmith to break into my rv. They broke my fifth wheel stabilizer, as this was locking the king pin. They duplicated a key to my understorage area. When I found this out, I was able to convince them to wait until I was back in the country to further touch or move my RV at all. I did not have access to a tow vehicle at the time, so the manager, Victor, told me that a friend was going to move my RV, whether or not I agreed to it or was present. I decided to be present at the time it was moved. His friend improperly hitched up my RV, thus dropping it onto the bed of the pick up truck. Victor refused to provide insurance information. He also blamed me for this happening. He was incredibly unprofessional, rude, and condescending. He told me that I was being overly sensitive for caring about the damage that this caused to my RV. After I had my RV moved to a repair shop, they continued to charge my credit card each month. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. They never accepted responsibility and never replaced the broken stabilizer. This location might be less expensive that other storage areas in this area, however it is absolutely not worth the money to use this business. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

To open your storage unit door, start by unlocking it, whether it uses a traditional padlock or a Bluetooth-enabled smart lock. Once unlocked, grab the bottom handle and lift or pull up the roll-up door until it’s fully open.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.

Security helps protect your belongings while they’re in storage and gives you peace of mind between visits. Many self storage facilities use a combination of features such as video surveillance, gated access, on-site management, and well-lit premises to help deter unauthorized access.
