I have been a loyal customer at this Public Storage location for over a year, paying my rent consistently every month. Last month, I became ill and called ahead to let the manager know I would be paying late, who assured me it was “no problem” and that I would still have access to my unit. I did pay September’s rent a few days late, and I am fully current on that bill—with the exception of a small $19.21 late fee that I had honestly forgotten about while dealing with my illness. Today, I went to the facility to retrieve important medical equipment and was shocked to find myself locked out of the gate. When I went to the office for help, I was met by DJ at the front desk, whose demeanor was unprofessional, dismissive, and flat-out rude. I explained that my September rent was already paid in full, but instead of offering even the slightest bit of understanding, DJ cut me off with a cold response about the $19 fee. He said I couldn’t access my own belongings until it was paid—delivered with a tone that was both condescending and unnecessary. To be denied access to my own unit over a forgotten $19 fee, after more than a year of consistent payments, and to be treated with such disrespect, is unacceptable. One late payment that was communicated in advance should not erase a year’s worth of loyalty. Public Storage has made it very clear that customer care, compassion, and professionalism are not their priorities. Because of this experience, I will be moving my belongings out and strongly advising others to take their business elsewhere. If this is how they allow their staff to treat paying customers, it speaks volumes about how little they actually value us. ... Read more

The storage units are clean, the gate access never had problems, and the staff in the in-site office was always friendly. But the rates increase every six months you are there, but this is not made clear AT ALL when you sign the lease, so if you need long-term storage, look elsewhere; after two years, the monthly cost for my unit had doubled from where it started, and I could no longer afford it, so I went through the labor and trouble of moving everything to another facility (and not Public Storage). ... Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
