I worked with Ahmad Hooper. He provided me Top Notch service from start to finish. He took his time to answer all my questions. Walked me to my unit and made sure I understood the ins and outs of the facility. 10 out of 10!! ... Read more

Shocking unprofessionalism. I paid to store my valuable belongings in a unit that was near their boiler. The boiler exploded, shooting water under the door into my unit, and they did not even call me to tell me, so that when I found out on my next visit to the unit, my belongings were destroyed. Later, I rented a different unit. One day I came to pick some items up, and an additional (3rd) padlock had been placed on the unit. I had never seen this lock before. When I told them about it, one employee said that they had no idea who put it there and I'd have to pay $50 to have it cut. When I protested that this was not fair, since it was not my fault that padlock got put on there, the manager admitted to me that they themselves had put it on there. It was a ploy to charge me an additional $50. They are terrible people. If you have any other options of where to store your belongings, please avoid them. ... Read more

We've been a long term tenant for years. We recently met Cyrus the Store Manager and he's a breathe of fresh air. He was kind and made our move-in to a new unit seamless. He also took the time to learn a little more about us. Thank you Cyrus. Don't hesitate to rent a unit. Long term or short term, it's a clean, safe, and a convenient location in Hell's Kitchen. ... I had the pleasure to work with Robert who went above and beyond to help me find the best option while I was thinking about downsizing units. Reggie and Cloyde at Manhattan Mini Storage are the definition of exceptional service! From the moment I arrived, they were professional, efficient, and genuinely helpful. Reggie’s attention to detail ensured I got the perfect storage unit, while Cloyde’s problem-solving skills made the process completely stress-free when tying a mattress to my car roof. Their dedication and customer-first approach make them true assets to the company—I wouldn’t be surprised to see them in leadership roles soon. Manhattan Mini Storage is lucky to have them! ... They invoiced me $52.25 but after paying that asked to pay again, thus I've paid $104.50 for a 4x4x3 storage unit (middle level unit on first floor). Before I made the second payment, I was unable to use PIN to enter the storage area. I've asked on the phone and in person twice to resolve this issue. The staff made an IT support ticket which was not resolved. Office hours are 8am-8pm, storage hours are 7am-10pm. I had limited time and needed access between 8pm and 10pm so had to pay the invoice twice. After ending the tenancy of the unit I asked them to refund me. They have not responded to my email. I have asked my credit card company to charge back the $52.50 payment. When ordering the unit, the form showed $9.47/wk ($41.01/mo), but when paying it changed to $11.31/wk ($48.99/mo) with -$44.24 pro-rated credit (as it was Jul 27 and had 3 days left in the month), $29.00 one-time admin fee, $18.50 door lock but a free month. The sold lock was 20034:SM-970 Platinum Series 2 3/4" Disc Lock ($16.99 + $1.51 tax). Invoice showed that the pro-rated credit was -$42.73. The staff in the office are very pleasant/nice. EDIT: 3 stars for the inconvenience and charging twice which seems to be an issue of the company. They refunded $52.24 payment after this review. Sorry for not updating this comment in a while, I still struggle to survive due to unemployment and emergency savings nearly run out but was able to find time to fix my comment. They haven't refunded the $0.01 transaction though. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Manhattan Mini Storage - 543 West 43rd Street has to offer. These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Manhattan Mini Storage - 543 West 43rd Street can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 6 to 198 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
