Read some helpful reviews of Volunteer Storage, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Our family rented a space for our camper here for years, but recently moved to another storage company due to the terrible customer service and declining condition of the property. Phone calls and messages are rarely returned if returned at all. Less than a year ago this property was in immaculate condition and you could not find a piece of grass on the entire property. Now, as you can see people’s campers/boats/cars are being swallowed by the vegetation on the property and management is doing nothing about it. In addition, the prices keep going up multiple times a year, the gate to the property is always standing wide open and there is junk and furniture laying amongst the property. The place looks abandoned and unmanned. What has happened to volunteer storage???? ... Read more

I have had my camper stored at this location for several years now and I can that their communication is probably the poorest I have ever delt with in a business. Everything is automated and you never get a live person. I sold my camper and I am trying to cancel my lot space and I cannot get a hold of anybody. I was just charged for another month. It shouldn't be this hard. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.

Security helps protect your belongings while they’re in storage and gives you peace of mind between visits. Many self storage facilities use a combination of features such as video surveillance, gated access, on-site management, and well-lit premises to help deter unauthorized access.
