Our unit had no lights, and is actively leaking water over our furniture and has damaged boxes and boxes of belongings. Multiple attempts at reaching management and no response. Will never recommend this unit to others. ... Read more

The property manager has never been able to answer the phone for the few months I have been there; Impossible to cancel monthly subscription; I am still trying to get a district manager to close out my account and stop billing me; avoid this location or use CubeSmart as an alternative ... Read more

Had a roll up storage unit in the back corner. Someone on Thanksgiving 2024 broke the lock and stole thousands of dollars of landscaping equipment from the unit, then they closed up the door and put the lock back on like nothing happened. Nobody was around, and only the staff know what was inside of it. Definitely an inside job. Called fairfax county police and they did a report. Police officer said he goes there at least once a month for the same thing. They refuse to show us the security cameras. We are in the process of getting a warrant for the cameras. We will prosecute to the fullest extent of the law who did it. Nobody answers our questions about what happened or who did it. They Definitely know but will not say. They raise rates sky high after a couple months as well. Was paying 6600 a year for 1 storage unit. Disgusting service all the way around. ... Read more

One of the worst customer service experiences of my life. The units are ok but the customer service does not exist. No one was manning the office as they were supposed to. I called Corporate and person finally showed up. When they showed she issued me a unit that was out of the way. I saw another unoccupied unit that was more convenient and asked if I could switch. She told me that was not possible. When I asked for a reason she said she had other things to do and could not help me further. ... Read more

I recently rented a storage unit at Public Storage Burke, and I was blown away by the exceptional service provided by Tommie. From the moment I walked in, they greeted me with a warm smile and a positive attitude that immediately made me feel welcome. The facility itself was clean, well-maintained, and easy to navigate, but it was Tommie who made the experience truly exceptional. I highly recommend this Public Storage location, and I can’t thank [Employee’s Name] enough for making my storage rental experience smooth and stress-free! Thank you, Tommie, for your outstanding service! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Public Storage - 5797 Burke Centre Pkwy has to offer. These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
