Read some helpful reviews of Sawco Self Storage at 15111 Carrollton Blvd, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

My mom used this storage for almost 3 years. We moved her in mid April, I was the person that cleaned the unit, so I know it was done and well done , now they refused to return the deposit. They claim it was not clean, therefore they are withholding the deposit. Lesson learned, we trusted these people to be honest, they were not. If you are considering using this storage for convenience, our suggestion is take a picture of the unit when you first sign your contract and one once you empty it, document everything ( which we failed to do). Protect yourself. ... Read more

Decent facility. Prices for rv storage are good. Storage units are slightly below average price for the region. You can get better move-in discounts almost anywhere else which would make it cheaper in the short term. Staff is friendly. Management systems are outdated. Everything is pretty much in person, fax, actual mail, that kind of thing. Expect every interaction to take 2-4x longer than it should. We had our storage here because it's one of the best options for a 35ft rv in hampton roads. Would not have used them otherwise. ... Read more

The staff is friendly and the facility is secure. However, my deposit was not returned to me. The facility claims my unit was unswept. I am not in agreement with this, I made sure my unit was clean and swept prior to checkout. I should have taken a photo (lesson learned). My unit was small and the deposit was $25.00 so it’s not a huge concern. ... Read more

Received no prior notification that our units were being AUCTIONED! Only received a Past Due Notice dated 9/14 that said an auction fee would be added to our account if balance was not paid before 9/22/19. Found out well after, that our units were auctioned and sold 9/14/19! I would NOT RECOMMEND doing business with this company to anyone at anytime. Other than for "Gail", a genuine, friendly associate there, the business would probably have much less patronage. ... Read more

I have had my things in storage since 2013 with these guys. I had to move away to Washington State for family matters and had to leave my things behind. It is a gated, key pad entry facility. I have been able to make all my payments over the phone without any hassle or problems. The staff has always been nice and friendly. I have gotten to know Ms. Gail, who answers the phone and takes your payment, over the past few years. I look forward to calling every month to make my payment because they are always on top of things. Thanks Sawco Self Storage for taking such great care of me and my things. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Sawco Self Storage - 15111 Carrollton Blvd has to offer. These amenities include Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted and RV Storage. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
