My experience with Public Storage was different than usual, the place looked like it was closed, no cars in the parking lot, at all. I started to leave but decided to go to the door and it was unlocked so I went in and there was a kiosk machine, wow! that was the first time I've ever seen such a machines at a storage rental, needless to say everything was taken care of without ever meeting anyone in person, lol. Sure, we do business like this all the time, but for me this was something new for a storage unit, my overall experience was great, at least ill know what to expect next time. Thank you, guys. ... I firmly regret choosing this storage facility. If you need storage for more than a month or two, and/or cannot stomach roaches, do NOT rent here. I rent two storage spaces. The first month I received the introductory rate. The following month I paid the standard rate, as advertised, as expected. The following month they raised my rate on one of my units. After a couple of months they raised it again, at which point I was paying 35% more than the standard rate I started with. The monthly rate on my second unit had been increased by 30% after the first couple of months, and within 12 months my monthly rate on each unit had doubled, after consistently increasing every couple of months. I have had my units for just over a year now, and while the same 10 x 10 NON-climate controlled units are being advertised at $67 per month online (I rented mine online, as well), I am now paying $153 for EACH unit, per month - NOT $67 per month. I also pay $15 per month, per unit, for the mandatory insurance. I did some research to understand why my rent kept increasing every couple of months - having doubled in a year- while still being advertised online at a much lower monthly rate. I discovered it is standard practice for some storage facilities to capitalize on the inability of renters to relocate to avoid the constant increasing costs, as doing so would be too much of a hardship, and impossible for some. As a point of information, a business model designed to profit from customers' vulnerabilities and limitations is known as a "predatory business model," because it deliberately exploits customers' difficult situations to maximize profits, often through consumers' lack of knowledge, misleading marketing tactics, and pricing practices. Sound familiar? You should also know there is a massive infestation of roaches at this facility, which I am told is not uncommon for storage facilities in general, although I cannot speak to whether this is true. Lastly, this location (at 1112 S. Battlefield Blvd.) has no office where you might seek assistance from an employee if you have an issue gaining access or otherwise. I am in the process of looking at alternative facilities - NOT another Public Storage. But just as they anticipate, relocating is not such an easy task when it is necessary to hire movers and incur that additional expense. ... Read more

I’ve been a loyal customer here for over 8 years. Always paid on time. My rent started out at $130. Now it’s over $400. They raise your rent every single year. This year by almost $60 per month. I went online and saw that new customers could get the same unit for less than half of what I was paying. I called corporate and talked to some rude guy who informed me that this is how they get new customers and that they would continue to raise my rate every year. Once they have you as a customer they realize most people won’t go through the hassle of moving all their stuff to a different storage place so they just raise your rent every year. ... Read more

I stopped in yesterday to start renting a storage unit, and Jessica was phenomenal to work with! Despite a kind of gloomy, rainy day she was extremely cheerful and pleasant. She was also able to thoroughly answer all of my questions regarding Public Storage's policies, and helped me to fill out the application in just a few minutes. The storage unit itself is a storage unit. You're going to get what you're looking for. My customer service experience yesterday was above and beyond. ... Read more

Jessica was awesome and extremely helpful. She helped us select the perfect size for what we needed and walked us through the entire process. Very friendly too- one of the most genuine people I've met in the state so far! Our unit was exactly what we expected and pretty clean for an outdoor storage area. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
