If i could give a worse review then a one I would there advertisement is misleading and untrue. They will try to charge you early or cancel a day early so u either dont have a full month or you pay for next month and they also charge more after the first month it goes to 58 to 102 for a 5×10 with no ac in units . If that wasn't enough of a problem there property manger is rude and has an attitude when dealing with difficult situations. All in all not a good experience i would just go somewhere else ... I would give this location a higher review, but the manager ruined that. I rented a unit and moved out by the day I said I would. I called this morning to confirm and left a voicemail. I received a call back from the manager (Jessica?), who stated that I had not moved out. I disagreed. She said that 311 still had a lock on it, and she couldn't clear me out until I removed it. She didn't even bother to ask questions or discuss the problem. Instead, she just started accusing me of doing something I didn't do! I told her that I have the lock, so somebody else must have put another lock on. She refused to believe me! I told her to check the video footage, and she said she did. She said nobody else was there. I informed her that a truck pulled up behind us, a few doors down, and she denied that. She said that there was somebody else, but they were on the next row. I vietmaly stated that I had the lock, I was moved out by the 30th, and that I had nothing to do with another lock being placed on my former unit. She let it be known that I had to remove the lock; she had a picture showing it; and she was going to keep charging me until it was removed. She practically called me 'a liar'!! I told her that I was on my way with the lock. I called my lawyer right away and left a message on how Public Storage was trying to defraud me. At this point, I am thinking that the manager herself was the one who placed a lock on my former unit. She calls me back and says that she mixed up the locations. Isn't it her very job to make sure the unit number and renters are correct when she speaks to a customer?!?! She said she's going to go look and see if there's no lock on 311. I demanded a picture and told her that I've already contacted my lawyer. She laughed and hung up. Horrible customer service!! Horrible manager!! ... Read more

Everything worked as advertised. You will need their lock because it fits the door properly. You might be able to save on insurance if your homeowners policy covers storage. Entry and exit using the app works well. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Public Storage - 216 Las Gaviotas Blvd has to offer. These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
