Read some helpful reviews of Virginia Varsity Self Storage at 2087 Apperson Drive, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Chris and his team were wonderful! They were all so careful, thorough and polite. Every item arrived safely with no damage. We were moving my elderly parents and they were very kind and aware of their needs. They even left the recliner where they were sitting to last for packing. Overall, it was a very positive experience. ... Read more

My sister recently moved into a nursing home and I had to empty her current small apartment. I decided to call Varsity after a recommendation of my sister in law. Mike quickly answered the phone and after a few questions, emailed me a form to detail what needed to be moved. I completed the online form in 10 minutes and within 24 hours I had a quote for less than $500. They agreed to take her furniture and some other items to the local Good Will as well as help me load my truck with the items she wanted to keep. My move was quickly scheduled for the next Friday. After confirming again online, I arrived at my sisters apartment on the moving date. The Varsity team arrived on time and got right to work. They were done within an hour including taking away a mattress and box spring that could not be donated. I was so grateful for this efficient help. They were terrific and I was able to easily pay the invoice right there (there was a 3% credit fee). I would highly recommend Virginia Varsity transfer. ... Read more

Helped coordinate transfer of a ReloCube onto a smaller truck because semi trucks are prohibited on our street. The crew was fantastic. On time, professional, and nothing scuffed or broken. Virginia Varsity took what could have been a stressful day, into a fast transfer to our home. Highly recommend. Our dog approved of Brandon and Chris. Great crew. ... Read more

I had an amazing experience with Varsity Transfer. From the initial estimate to the day of packing, there was constant communication. Double checks to make sure everyone was on the same schedule, regular check ins, and email confirmations. On the day more than enough guys showed up to pack the entire house in a few hours, and then the next day a new team got everything moved and moved in and unpacked before 5pm. A truly fantastic feat. Not a dinged wall. Not a lost item. Not a single damaged item (actually a Christmas plate got effed but that was my fault for wrapping it poorly). Kenny was in charge of the team for move in day and he kept everyone constantly working efficiently and correctly. I felt confident just leaving the house and letting them do their thing with him in charger. 10/10 would move with again but I will NEVER be moving again. ... Read more

We could not have asked for a better moving experience than what we received from Virginia Varsity Transport. Michael came to our home and did our estimate. We had to do a couple of changes on dates and he was so responsive and great to work with. I was impressed when the team arrived within the 15 minute arrival time provided. Each member of the team were so friendly and personable and introduced themselves. Once entering our property the team had a plan and worked together like a well oiled machine. We were so impressed how each team member handled our items with great care. Our grandfather clock was wrapped in so many layers and done with such care it was like watching artists. We went from a two story home to the fourth floor of our new complex. Shortly after starting the unload the elevator stopped working. The team did not slow down for a second. They immediately hit the stairs. It was an extremely difficult situation for them and they kept the same demeanor that they had begun the job with. They completed just as they had started. The team had just finished a very tough job, yet remained so enthusiastic about the placement of our items. We had not decided on a space for our grandfather clock and Ben the team leader offered a suggestion we had not even considered and it was perfect. We could not have been happier with our move other than having an operational elevator for this wonderful team. Our sincere thanks for a job well done. ... Read more

I have moved many times over the years and Virginia Varsity Transfer was BY FAR THE BEST move I have ever experienced!! The crew(s) moving us out of our old home and into our new home were very professional and very personable. They handled our goods as if they were their own and they took care at both locations not to damage the homes interior in the process. The team supervisor was extremely knowledgeable and very organized. They moved a Baby Grand Piano for us and it was handled perfectly! I give these guys a perfect 10!!! ... Read more

What a professional team! We’ve used VV for our last 3 moves, the most recent was a long distance and they were wonderful. Smooth process and respectful, friendly guys. They will disassemble and reassemble furniture (pretty amazing). We will be using them again next year. Don’t hesitate!! ... Read more

My sister and I had the best experience with Virginia Varsity Transfer for my recent move and under very difficult personal circumstances. HQ provided a very reasonable quote, info on details, and patiently let me change the date several times. They sent a super experienced (including baby grand piano), kind, respectful, attentive, efficient team of four led by amazing Chris and his coworkers David, Jacob, and Mohammad. Their physical strengths were impressive, but it was the respect for the items, situation, customer satisfaction, and pure appreciation for the job and each other that stood out. My sister had brought a playlist/speaker and we all enjoyed the music and shared a few stories. I couldn't ask for a better moving transfer team and company... highly recommend! ... Read more

First time using this company for a move from Roanoke, VA to Tampa, FL. Cost was close to $8k given it was only 1- 26 ft truck with no furniture and mostly odds and ends with lots of storage totes. Types of items matter with pricing I learned. Everything was very smooth and the logistics & price were very good for the quality & convenience of service. A crew of 3 loaded the truck, & with our house having 3 levels I was glad the movers were young and strong guys. On the receiving end they had 2 movers to unload, but it was much easier in Florida with a 1 level home. All in all they were professional & efficient. Any time I move in the future I'll be using Varsity. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Virginia Varsity Self Storage - 2087 Apperson Drive has to offer. These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Virginia Varsity Self Storage - 2087 Apperson Drive can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 20 to 450 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by Virginia Varsity Self Storage - 2087 Apperson Drive come at a variety of prices, starting from $51 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $484 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
