Climate-controlled storage units in Norfolk, VA

UPDATE: My experience when I first moved into this storage facility was good enough that I felt the need to leave a review back then. Now that I’m preparing to relocate out of state, I wanted to update it because my experience has continued to be positive all the way through. Most recently, I’ve been dealing with Victor, and he has been wonderful to work with. The first time I met him, he was helping another customer on the phone when I walked in, and another customer came in right behind me. Even while juggling multiple people at once, he treated everyone with kindness, respect, patience, and friendliness. He has also been extremely helpful any time I’ve had issues with my storage unit, including when I lost my key and had to have the lock cut off (recently). Not once did he act irritated or impatient. That really stands out these days. Victor’s character and professionalism are unforgettable, and I really hope the company recognizes what an asset he is. Employees like him make a lasting impression. OLD REVIEW: It looks like my daughter got to review iStorage before I did. We rented a storage unit here. Upon entering, we were greeted by Ronnetta. She was so friendly, it was like chatting with an old friend. Everything was explained so clearly that we didn't have many questions to ask. Initially, we requested a 10 x 20 space; however, she encouraged us to look at that size prior to committing. Thankfully, we agreed. It was much larger than we needed. We needed a truck to move and Ronnetta arranged the rental which made our move that much easier. The facility is located behind car dealerships right off of the boulevard. I have been down this way many times and never noticed, so if you're looking for it, pay close attention. The grounds and building are well-kept. I'm not sure if all of the units are climate controlled, but our building stays at a comfortable temperature. The elevators are a little smaller than many other storage facilities, but they serve the purpose. The doors are not automatic so you do have to utilize the kickdown door holder. The few times I have been, there are only 3 carts that sit in the hall on the lower floor. They are a bit small, but they do the job. It wouldn't hurt to buy some sturdier replacements or additions. All in all, the customer service is stellar and the facility is clean and secure, so it deserves five stars! Thank you, Ronnetta, for EVERYTHING!

Brenda was a HUGE help when there was some confusion at move-in. Super professional and friendly. Each time I've seen her, she's been really great, always busy managing the property but very attentive to questions and needs

Arlene Arlene Arlene is the manager or at least the woman who assisted me when I moved in! She is amazing!!! She is so very nice, she even opened the door for me when I entered the building, took me on a tour of the facility and was extremely patient with me and all my questions!!! And extra space is extra clean!!!! 10 out of 10 experience for me and you should expect the same!!! See you there!!!
