Gabe provided excellent customer service while I was researching self-storage. Amazingly, I was referred to DSS by a local competitor who didn't have the storage size I needed. I am so glad because DSS's price was 50% lower. Gabe was very professional and answered all of my questions. I shared the information with my good friend from church, who had an unplanned short-term storage need. After Gabe gave us a tour of his clean, comfortable, and well-lit facility, she decided to rent a conditioned 5'W x 10'D x 9'H space. I will likely use DSS to store my kayak trailer when DSS has a vacancy, so I don't have to keep it on my property in Montclair, VA. If anyone asks me for a self-storage referral in the Dumfries-Montclair-Woodbridge area, I will refer them to DSS and the on-site manager, Gabe! What a great locally owned business!

5-8-26...I wanted to write a another review........?? this one is for Terry the only 1 in VA bch district!...the red head. I spoke with her due to a little situation that she handle like a pro. I definitely appreciate her great customer as well as her great personality. I just wanted to say thanks again Terry continue to be great! Ryan was super helpful. She was very informative and explained everything I needed to know. Then, what really took me over the top, she highlighted informative information on the contract that was important. Ryan customer service was definitely an asset to the company. Yes, I would recommend this location. THANKS, Ryan!

UPDATE: My experience when I first moved into this storage facility was good enough that I felt the need to leave a review back then. Now that I’m preparing to relocate out of state, I wanted to update it because my experience has continued to be positive all the way through. Most recently, I’ve been dealing with Victor, and he has been wonderful to work with. The first time I met him, he was helping another customer on the phone when I walked in, and another customer came in right behind me. Even while juggling multiple people at once, he treated everyone with kindness, respect, patience, and friendliness. He has also been extremely helpful any time I’ve had issues with my storage unit, including when I lost my key and had to have the lock cut off (recently). Not once did he act irritated or impatient. That really stands out these days. Victor’s character and professionalism are unforgettable, and I really hope the company recognizes what an asset he is. Employees like him make a lasting impression. OLD REVIEW: It looks like my daughter got to review iStorage before I did. We rented a storage unit here. Upon entering, we were greeted by Ronnetta. She was so friendly, it was like chatting with an old friend. Everything was explained so clearly that we didn't have many questions to ask. Initially, we requested a 10 x 20 space; however, she encouraged us to look at that size prior to committing. Thankfully, we agreed. It was much larger than we needed. We needed a truck to move and Ronnetta arranged the rental which made our move that much easier. The facility is located behind car dealerships right off of the boulevard. I have been down this way many times and never noticed, so if you're looking for it, pay close attention. The grounds and building are well-kept. I'm not sure if all of the units are climate controlled, but our building stays at a comfortable temperature. The elevators are a little smaller than many other storage facilities, but they serve the purpose. The doors are not automatic so you do have to utilize the kickdown door holder. The few times I have been, there are only 3 carts that sit in the hall on the lower floor. They are a bit small, but they do the job. It wouldn't hurt to buy some sturdier replacements or additions. All in all, the customer service is stellar and the facility is clean and secure, so it deserves five stars! Thank you, Ronnetta, for EVERYTHING!

Recently moving and forgot to order a dolly so I stopped to see if I can rent one. Turns out you cannot rent one here but the guy Drew behind the counter gave me there dolly to use for two days for free. Thanks a ton!!
